Airthrey Castle
We walked from Witches Craig caravan and camping site. We came out by an old Gate house, walked up the path and walked around the rugby field, and around to the back of the castle. Didn't go into the castle itself, just enjoyed the walk and the rhododendrons, which were in bloom.

Set in the campus of Stirling University it is a very imposing castle.The surrounding grounds are superb.Many walkers walk their dogs there. They come from neighbouring Bridge of Alan

Airthrey Castle
Part of the University of Stirling it is not open to the public but the grounds are easily accessible from the road. Well maintained and nice structure. The setting is peaceful and pristine.

It's part of Stirling university, not always open. There is some detailed wooden panelling on the ground floor.

Fantastic array of flowers and shrubs around the fringe of the putting green and the walk around airthrey Loch is a great way to see the cygnets from all the nesting swans dotted around the edge of the shore , very popular at the weekend try and go midweek if you can , especially now as the students are all heading home so it's a lot more relaxed up tje University for parking
