We went as a group of 4 for the han setto brunch to celebrate my niece’s birthday. The food was well presented and sufficient in quantity. The first course were served, sharing style and comprised a varied selection of cooked food, greens (salad and edamame) and sushi and sashimi. The maki rolls were tiny and the sashimi is quite basic (salmon, tuna and prawn) but the gyoza was delicious. We were able to select our own main - we had the sea bream, ribs and chicken; decent portion size. The dessert selection was lovely and well presented. The only minus was the service levels. While it did get busier as the afternoon progressed, we had to keep asking for our drinks to be topped up. There was a soy sauce spill and the staff didn’t bother cleaning that up until I had to draw their attention to do so.The 14 percent service charge was a bit excessive considering the service was lacking. Staff weren’t very friendly or welcoming and barely smiled or acknowledged our presence once the food had been served. Usually fresh plates are offered as a minimum, between courses but this was not done despite it being fairly obvious. The bathrooms were also not particular maintained. Tissue paper on the floor by the sink gave off the impression that no one had checked the bathroom for a while.I’d go back again because I like Roka and the brunch is a nice experience but the service will hopefully improve.

We’re regulars at Roka but we usually go to the Charlotte Street one, came to Roka Aldwych for the weekend brunch and from start to finish it was exceptional. The food was delicious, the quantity was more than enough for 2 people. The service was great, very attentive, friendly staff and the restaurant itself was very spacious unlike the other Roka branches. We will definitely be coming here again.

I had heard many good reviews on this place, so naturally I had high hopes. The starters was a good start, my personally favourite were the gyoza’s, the salad, edamame & the sushi platter. My least favourite was the chicken bites and the sweet potato. We had asked for another round of the plates we had all favoured, the waiter assigned to us said he would bring it out right away. However, instead it was another waitress who had brought us all our least favourite foods, in which we had told her maybe it was a mistake made and suggested it could’ve been for another table. We were told it was our table without double checking with my original waiter. The tables are small, so it didn’t help to have extra food that wasn’t going to be eaten. As for the mains, it was the biggest let down of all. I had ordered the Sea Bream, the flavour of it is extremely strong. It was massively fail of flavour combinations. It was £75 pp and it was the first restaurant I had visited where I had sincerely regretted my choices. I had ordered Thai takeout once I had reached home & it was under £25, tasted amazing & was full.

I booked this for my husbands birthday in November. We had the bottomless brunch which was truly bottomless in every aspect! You get unlimited starters, 1 main each and 1 dessert tray to share. We were SO full and satisfied with the starters that we could barely touch our mains! The food came out fresh and quick but SO delicious! The service was AMAZING! Staff are so friendly and professional. We were over an hour late due to London protests and they kindly moved out timing without any problem!I will definitely be going back here

Despite being an upscale Japanese restaurant, Roka's food was rather underwhelming. Overall the quality is alright, but definitely disproportionate to the amount we were paying. It was also a bit odd to stare at a mountain of raw onions throughout the meal.

Nice food and amazing service by Christina. We were running a little late and they accommodated us without trying to make us feel uncomfortable. The ribs and wings were not nice in my opinion, but I enjoyed the Soft Shell Crab with Roasted Chilli Dressing, the Tiger Prawn Tempura and sushi. The cocktails were nice too.The sticky toffee pudding & ice cream was tasty but I couldn’t even eat half because it was so rich.Personally, I think Zuma is much tastier.

For what you're paying the portions are small. I could justify that and the price if the taste was incredible, but it's only a little better than average. Nothing blew us away (although the maki rolls were good). There are better options for the price that was charged. Maybe we came on a bad day...

We were a group and 7 people and decided it was easiest to go for the premium tasting menu. Sharing plates of sashimi, gyoza, tempura, miso black cod, lamb cutlets, wagyu beef - generous portions. The lamb cutlets were deliciously seasoned and tender, they are to die for!To finish we were presented with the signature Roma dessert platter - ending on a high.It was a finely thought-out menu and I recommend it to anyone who loves raw fish and grilled meats in Asian style.

Absolutely brilliant brunch. All staff were welcoming, professional and friendly (and quick to refresh the glass's on the table, if you are doing the bottomless wine or prosecco). Great, buzzy but not noisey, atmosphere. Every dish was flawless. Whole-heartedly can recommend. The ribs available on the main course order, especially deserve a mention, although our group did order all the mains and each and everyone was incredible. One of my new favourite places to eat, even though I'm not big on sushi or sashimi, if you're the same don't let that put you off, there are other options that you'll love. Hold on to your hats and save room in your bellies for the dessert platter! It's not one you'd want to miss!
