ibis London City - Shoreditch

Went to London for my daughter's surprise 10th birthday. Staff are very friendly and helpful. They even brought a slice of cake out for breakfast on her birthday and sang happy birthday to her.Great hotel would definitely go back.

Exceptional stay! From the moment I arrived, the hotel impressed with its top-notch service and outstanding amenities. The staff was attentive and friendly, ensuring a seamless experience. This is not a budget hotel, the cost was far more than it should have been. I gave it a 1 cos I couldn't go lower. The service was poor and mostly unhelpful, rooms were small, TV was rubbish as signal was really poor and the bathroom smelt like sewage the whole time we were there. I would never stay there again. Only positive is having a tesco next door

I do have to question some of these reviews. Quite simply one of the worst hotels I’ve stayed in. Poor location, poor mattress (about 4” thick), bathroom was fully plastic and looks like it’s more suited to an aeroplane, room very hot and air con not working or turned off due to time of year. Then to breakfast, hot food was Luke warm at best and sparse. Never again.

Well placed if you have customers nearby. You can always expect great service at ibis and this one doesnt disappoint. I was with a friend and booked in super fast. Good sized room for the centre of the city with a comfortable mattress and pillows. Always after. A good shower as well an this didn't disappoint. And don't worry about having to take the higher floors, the windows are well insulated!

Good location, responsive room service, clean and comfortable room, fast check out. It was an excellent stay. Located at very accessible train station that makes easier to go city centre and therefore offers quiet surroundings for good rest. Room design is contemporary and I like it a lot.Mani- Australia

In my opinion more of a two stars hotel. Maybe once it was appropriate to call itself three stars, but it clearly deteriorated and you can see it aged. Bed linens were not new and clearly had some age. As well the carpet floor had some stains. The vents in the bathroom were very dusty and the tap was creaky. The bathroom was completely made of plastic - like a cabin. Time to renew it. Everything however was clean and worked. The window are not sound proof, you could hear sirens and cars from outside. The breakfast was good and at a very reasonable price. Better you come a little earlier, otherwise you have to wait. The area is centrally located as well. Staff was friendly.

If you’re looking for a 2-3 star basic, small hotel, then this one is OK, however 300€/night can’t be justified! The rooms are tiny and the bathroom is like one you’d find on an airplane or train. The decor was pretty bad. The location is fantastic in the center of London city. I was traveling here for work and ended up rebooking somewhere nicer.

For the price I didn’t expect any great service and also if you have no irregularity it is just ok. However my booking reservation was not found due to their system problem and they told me that I made a wrong reservation which was not true as I took a package with Eurostar and the dates for the train was correct and on my voucher had the right date.The check in staff told me to book newly another room for 190 pounds which luckily I didn’t do and contacted Eurostar. Eurostar helped to negotiate with the hotel as they confirmed that the hotel reservation was well done for the right date. What is sad about the hotel is that their check in service is poor and have no knowledge for problems like this which made us loose almost 3h at the hotel doing nothing.Also before checking for the reason they think it is the customer that made a mistake for the reservation and they say that in front of the customer which I find very disappointing. No sincere apologies after finding out that it was their system’s fault and it was the worst check in experience.Also during these 3h of waiting I saw that the check in staff is eating snacks, hiding in the baggage storage room, then going out to buy something, others doing their smartphones while the phone was ringing. Really poor very poor service and I will never use this hotel ever even though it is cheap.When I got in the room, there were hairs on the bathroom floor as well.The only good thing was the location near the station but the area is not quite nice.

It's OK although the restaurant" area very open/poor. Food OK. Rooms OK. Location OK. Just very OK all round. It is a 2 star hotel so don't expect anything but to be fair. One big plus over Premier Inn (for example) is you get very decent WiFi without extra charge."
