Clonter Opera Theatre

Never been before although I live 10mins away.It's a great venue, inside, welcoming, friendly staff to greet you. You can reserve a table and take you're own picnic. We saw a jazz and blues band and they were brilliant.Definitely againLook out for different artists

First time going even though we're local. Decided to go for our wedding anniversary. We enjoyed The Magic Flute. Just a couple of things:The programme needs to be in a darker print, it is very difficult to read even in daylight!The nibbles need to be served on arrival. We ended up rushing ours.We did win the raffle, so we will be back for another performance.

Magic flute. Sung in English was a bit odd from what I'm used to but the cast and the orchestra were amazing. We didn't dress up and although I'd make the effort next time we certainly didn't feel uncomfortable. The staff, the ushers and everyone there made us feel welcome. The parking was easy and no waiting to get in or leave. As its a smaller theatre you are quite close to the stage which gives it a really personal and nice feel. I'll be going again.

Mozart Magic Flute totally brilliant! Superbly talented singers supported by impressive and well directed orchestra with the charm offered by this unique venue. Be part of this musical history by the clapping of your hands! This troup translate eloquently Mozart's genius musical mind waiting to warm your soul.

Welcoming and immediate in a wonderful setting...you don't have to pay the earth for a ticket..people are friendly not snooty

Spent a very enjoyable hour at the dress rehearsal for The Magic Flute. The cast were exceptional as were the orchestra. At the interval we took ourselves on to the lawn to enjoy our picnic. The information we had received indicated a 70 minute break in the performance. After 20 minutes we were called to retake our seats in the auditorium. We packed up our uneaten picnic, finished our wine and returned to find ourselves locked out. After much knocking the door was eventually opened and we were informed that we could not come in due to being a few minutes late. For some reason the lady felt she needed the support of bouncer to share this news. It was a chilly evening but we’re not permitted to even enter the bar area to finish our picnic and wait for a taxi to take us home. So our evening had finished before it began and we were left in the middle of nowhere, cold and confused.We will not be returning to the Clonter. We felt unwelcome and were shocked by the inflexibility of the staff. We understood that the performance could not be disrupted by late comers but plenty of side seats were empty that we could have been seated in at an appropriate opportunity. Their information regarding the interval timings was incorrect yet reasonableness was not on their agenda. Be warned, this could be you.

First time at the opera and it was a great experience. Fantastic show, good legroom for tall people but ymmv!
