The consultants are fantastic and genuinely caring! However, I found the MRI department team that I saw today absolutely awful. Very discourteous, dismissive and unable to explain why I was given a 25 minute scan instead of the 50 minutes I always have, spoke to the same lady who told the day before my scan that I was correct and my scan would be 50 minutes only to arrive on the day and be told I misunderstood and it would be a standard 25 minutes. The man present at my scan spoke to me through a closing door making their response inaudible and not replying to my questions by sliding me into the scanner mid conversation. Basically a horrid experience with no explanation as to why my scan was half the time it usually is, it has always been a detailed and lengthy scan. Found appalling that neither the woman or man used gloves when cleaning my bleeding arm due to the canula. The woman's reasoning was confused and wrong, blaming protocol, hospital policies, different departments for the change in my scan, none of it made sense very different from our telephone conversation which she informs me I misunderstood, very patronising.

A family member had a brain tumour removed here and, while the surgery itself went well, she received shockingly poor treatment from the majority of staff on the Molly Lane Fox Ward whilst recovering in the days after. I’m infuriated and appalled at the way she was treated whilst recovering from such a major surgery.

Brain surgery requires proper food to recoverYou fill in the menu and given nothing of what you ask/need and left going hungry day after day.Medical is offering you laxatives while catering really doesn't care about the patient and laxatives on a continuously empty stomach does not solve a problem or help a patient! Right hand not aware of the left or impact on patients physical health after life changing surgery. Very sad and frustrating. Nurses should not be buying food from the canteen to supplement patients needs.

My husband was here for 7 weeks and I couldn't be more happier with all the nurses and doctors who dealt with him. They were all amazing and so very caring. If it wasn't for them my husband would not be with us today so myself and the family are forever greatful

I attend this hospital at least twice a year. Great team in the autonomic unit in the past 7 years they've finally diagnosed a life time condition and tried every test and treatment possible. They never give up. X

I was seen by a Dr which transpired was just a trainee with zero supervision or senior on hand to ask advice. He proceeded to gaslight me, he already had preconceived notions about me and was biased and extremely prejudiced in his case review of me. He told me I was basically fat and to just exercise and lose weight, and kept aggressively asking me what do I want him to do. When I asked him to explain why I could be getting this level of pain, bedbound most days, he proceeded to throw us out his office. In all my years, this shocked me deep to the core. I made a complaint to the hospital and GMC as he is first and foremost a danger to patients! I ended up in A&E after falling, spent a night being monitored and left bedbound for weeks, after he basically insinuated I was making it all up. Whatever you do, proceed with caution! If you are Black you will not get much help at this hospital and certainly not by this doctor. You will never be listened to. It feels like they have a whites first policy in this particular department. You will endure concious bias, and be seen as just another angry Black person. ⚠️

My Grandad is in his final days and I rarely see him cry apart from when he was admitted to this hospital/the A&E stroke department. He told me he was treated with, in his words “real neglect” The staff were rough, loud at night and unhelpful. I was so relieved when he was transported to another hospital.

I had the misfortune of being referred here for tests in 1989 as a scared 15 year old. I saw a Dr Schott, and he completely misdiagnosed my form of epilepsy - he said I had 'petit mal' (which isn't even a term used for decades, let alone a diagnosis). He then proceeded to tell me I'd never be able to fly an aeroplane or join the Armed Forces" (errr...neither were things I'd wanted to do!)

I was transferred to this hospital with full paralysis (Shoulders down to feet) from a viral infection. The staff on the rehabilitation ward were amazing, the level of care was phenomenonal. Being here made my recovery so much easier, the nursing team and the physio therapist went above and beyond to help me get back on my feet (literally). After 2 months of intensive support I was able to walk again and I cannot thank this place enough!

Excellent care from nursing staff, who maintain their humour without losing their professional behaviour.Specialist medical treatment and out patient department. Outpatient department does have limited capacity for waiting, but facilities are what you’d expect from a modern hospital.I found most of portering staff unhelpful and not very professional, in my opinion and having worked in numerous hospitals in London, I found them lazy and everything appeared to be an effort, felt, and looked as though, patients were intruding on their day.Overall, a specialist hospital, offering specialist, excellent up to date neurological care and treatment.
