JPG (Josh Parkin Guitars)

Just had my Explorer completely overhauled by Josh Parkin and I am absolutely blown away by the care and quality of his work.I went down to JPG as i needed a quality refret and a new nut to suit. After meeting josh I immediately felt at ease leaving the guitar there as he completely knows his craft.I tried one of his fantastic custom guitars and couldn't get away from how amazing it sounded. Josh told me it had his custom hand wound 'Rampage' pickup set in it. That threw a spanner in the works, safe to say I asked Josh to wind us a set of them and stick them in aswell.The pickups are incredible, I've never ever heard note definition like it, so articulate. Josh can accommodate custom winds and designs.When he handed me the guitar back it was spotless, with spherical fret ends (feel absolutely amazing) and a super low action. It plays incredibly, and sounds incredible with the new pickups. Absolutely over the moon.

Josh made some pickups (Hot Sauce) for my MIJ Strat. It has transformed it and sounds just incredible. Complete versatility. I play home and with friends, so I can only imagine what his skills do for gigging and pro players.

Josh made me some gold foil pickups that match the vintage specifications of the originals perfectly. Thankyou so much, a real craftsman.

Have had 2 guitars worked on by Josh, both times he has done a superb job. A true luthier - highly recommend !

I had recently got a 5 string headless unlined fretless bass and due to my ignorance, I totally screwed up the string height, intonation... Josh got the bass perfectly intonated, with low action as requested, and with the low B string using a gauge heavier than the E-G strings so that I can downtune it to drop Bb. Also, Josh was extremely patient, taking more than 10 minutes to explain to me how to set up the bass. On top of this I wasn't charged much for the maintenance... I totally recommend it!

Great headstock repair

For about the same cost as a high-spec factory made Fender (a fraction the cost of a Custom Shop one), Josh custom built me the guitar of my dreams. The guitar looks superb, plays better than any other guitar I’ve ever tried and sounds unique and amazing. Throughout the process he kept me involved in decisions and updated with emails and photos of the work in progress. It was an exciting journey to go on and the end product more than lived up to the build up. Josh really cares about his work and despite his messy workshop, his work is flawless - he’s a perfectionist who really, really knows his stuff and who really cares. Couldn’t be happier!
