Riverside Village Holiday Park
Our first caravan trip and it was a success! The site was well maintained, although the children play area was very tired... the ground beneath the swings and seesaw was so deep you couldn't touch the ground, it was all so spaced out it was a bit tricky. The site it's self was very quiet and pretty. We didn't use the facilities as we had them on the caravan although we did find the washing up area was in a portaloo cubicle next to the ones with actual toilets in there so we decided not to use it as a bit gross??? There was also some decor up by some caravans that was a bit racist.. I won't go into detail.. and some of the kids and parents on the site were using awful language, which, when you're there with a child as a family, it's very unacceptable!! Unfortunately, there was no one in the office to speak to..I would go back because it's an easy destination for us, but I thought it was expensive for what it was.

A real shame this one because while the staff are friendly and helpful enough and the park is nice and clean, we've left feeling a bit cheated having been made to pay £70 for the night for two caravan plots for a small camper van and a one man tent (which we put next to said camper). It was all the more galling to see our neighbours with massive caravans, awnings and then windshielded eating areas taking up about 8x our footprint paying for a single plot. Our neighbours told us we'd been had. I feel we have been.

Lovely camp site, very peaceful, friendly staff at reception which was small but sold ice cream & essentials. Shower block & toilets nice & clean. The only down side is it could do with a proper toilet & showers on the camping pitch because I have never been on a camp site with Portaloos before.

This is a beautiful, quiet lovely campsite with very nice staff. The toilet/dishwashing facilities could be better at the camping pitches but a great family environment with plenty to do! The kids loved the crabbing!

Not overly impressed . Disappointed after the website makes it look so impressive.Bit like a Travellers site . Amenities not great . Shop very limited.Asked to move pitch as next to a very large group of about 6 caravans that looked like workers . Staff friendly and moved us but pitches very limited as so many un occupied caravans everywhere. Then had a pitch next a couple with very loud music all evening . Would not return. Expensive considering.

MOSQUITOES!! Do not stay at this site if the Mozzies like you… seriously! There is loads of still water surrounding the site; perfect breeding grounds for them.We stayed there for two nights and so far I’ve counted 17 bites on me.. I haven’t been this bitten since I travelling in South East Asia many years ago, and certainly never this much in the UK.As for the site, facilities are pretty pathetic: shower blocks with two showers and full of cobwebs and spiders. No proper facilities to wash up dishes etc. Hardly any water taps… we had to keep walking quite a distance to one.A cheap site but one where you’re definitely only getting what you’ve paid for!!

It served its purpose but wouldn't come back. This is not your usual holiday campsite. We were visiting family nearby so decided to camp. Its mainly people who live on site in caravans and then a touring / camping field.Within our 3 night stay, 1 night there was music until the early hours with children playing out until the same time and another night a domestic until 4am.There is only 2 portaloos for the whole camping field? We have camped alot and these are the worst facilities have ever come across. This wasn't such a problem in the week but come the weekend it was ridiculous, too many people for 2 toilets. The washing up sink was in another portaloo which felt unhygenic, and there wasn't a bin to place your scraps in.We had to pay extra for a large tent yet the non electric pitches aren't even marked out so not sure why have to pay extra. We usually have electricity but for £13 a night for electric we chose to go without, usually it's £3/£4 ,not sure how can justify £13 a night! The location is however lovely and very scenic with stunning sunset, what I failed to see in other reviews is also anyone mentioning there is an industrial yard nearby and can be noisy from 6am with cranes and traffic and this noise doesn't stop until they go home from work. The camp field also backs onto a road which does have some traffic passing all through the night. The website clearly states no dogs in camping field but there were 2 families with dogs and constantly off the lead? There was no one enforcing the long list of rules you are given when checking in.

An excellent campsite without doubt. Beautiful views and location, quiet and very well run. Outside toilets could be cleaned a little more regularly though. A small on-site shop (closes for lunch), no clubhouse. Boules on Sundays. Sheltered toilets generally well cleaned. CCTV everywhere which is great for safety and an 'assertive' but kind manager who ensures well behaved clientele. Spent 5 years here on and off, loved it! Thank you.
