Dunham House

Great place for large gatherings, plenty of space and rooms and everything was so clean.

We had a great stay! There was plenty of space for our group of 14, and we'd really recommend the Maharaj Indian takeaway down the road. Dunham House is spacious, clean & comfortable and Chris & Louise are lovely hosts with excellent communication. Thank you!

We had such a wonderful weekend at Dunham House (24-26th Feb 2023). We had a total of 12-14 ladies in our group and it still didn’t feel like we were on top of each other.It is such a characterful house, we enjoyed how the joiner will have had to leave their spirit level in the van whilst working on the doors! Wouldn’t hesitate to come back to stay.The hosts have also been fantastic.Thanks Louise & Chris!

Absolutely Fabulous!We visited Dunham house from the 4th - 6th August for my husbands surprise 40th!There were 18 adults in total and the house was perfect to sleep all 18 comfortably. The facilities were brilliant and the house had everything we needed! The house is huge and we all loved the quirky detail and decoration.Louise and Chris were great hosts and very helpful and gave me contacts for various businesses - the main one being Saucypizzaco as my husband loves pizza so I ordered 20 pizzas from their restaurant on the Friday night. It was the best pizza we have ever had! Nothing was too much for Brian and Lubka! For a takeaway I highly recommend this small business.We hired casino tables on the Friday night and the house was perfect to fit those in along with the croupiers.We went to Doncaster races on the Saturday and only a 35 minute taxi ride. Perfect location and ideal The Swan being next door too who were very accommodating!Superb stay and perfect for a big group!

We stayed as a group of 12 for a stag. The house is amazing, full of character and a fantastic layout that at no point felt cramped. Everyone loved theHouse and it was in a great location to go on excursions from. The owners were very nice to deal with, and quick to respond. What a fantastic experience!

Just back from a family celebration weekend at Dunham House. Yes in parts the house would benefit from some TLC, but generally it provided an ideal venue with lots of space, comfy beds, good quality bedding and towels, well-equipped kitchen, good wifi/Sky TV and generally a lovely homely feel. The White Swam next door was a bonus for Friday night drinks and Sunday lunch and there are some nice easy round walks from the house along the River Trent. A few little niggles such as very low power showers, slightly neglected garden, no basic supplies in kitchen, but overall for the price Dunham House provides a great venue for a big family get-together!

Dunham house is a fab place for a large group of people, there were 16 of us and we did not feel cramped once. The garden was great for relaxing in the sun and all the bedrooms felt spacious. We also got a private chef in on the Saturday and managed to get all 16 of us around the table in the dining room. The hosts are also great and very accommodating and everything was catered for. Would definitely recommend.

We stayed at the beginning of August and the house itself is full of character, with beautiful fireplaces throughout and close to Lincoln however we had numerous issues throughout our stay, over the course of three days. The house was not clean, so much so we had to buy antibacterial spray and hoovered throughout. Numerous lights were not working, the oven was tripping the electricity, the showers were covered in mould and lime scale and were falling off the walls. One of the beds were broken and the cot bed mattress was covered in stains. The gardens were very overgrown and the children were stung numerous times by stinging nettles. We contacted the owners after our stay to list our issues so they could address the issues and the response we got was rude, defensive and unapologetic. It is quite clear the owners do not check on the property and their cleaners should be sacked!

Dunham House, like Diamond House which we have also stayed at, is a great mid-budget place for large family gatherings, which makes it a rare find these days. Hosts Chris and Louise are hospitable, helpful and proactive. The decor is attractive without being too hi-spec. There is space for a party of 16 to eat together, and facilities for cooking comfortably for that number. Plenty of bedrooms too and no problem showering all the bodies. We found the house to be warm enough for us at New Year, though we also enjoyed wood fires in the evening.There is a surprising amount to do in an area that is fairly non-touristy as you can head off in a number of directions, whether to Lincoln, Sherwood Forest or local walks. We have used Dunham and Diamond Houses three times now and have always enjoyed our family reunions there.
