Amazing experience at The Repairist in Westham. My French carriage clock was poorly and required some attention. It got it in abundance from Quentin who repaired and polished it all well within the estimate and time quoted. Look no further than The Repairist if you require horology expertise.

Extremely pleased with the restoration of our clock. Quentin lovingly cleaned it after it suffered smoke damage years ago. It is now working perfectly and he even brought it round and made sure it was working and hanging properly. Would definitely recommend The Repairist.

My treasured clock has been lovingly restored with a new mechanism and the pendulum is now working. The clock has also been cleaned and looks wonderful on the wall. Quentin is very approachable and professional in his work and I am very grateful. I would certainly recommend him.

Incredible knowledge and passion on full display !I had two time-pieces which had fallen on hard times ...The first was a traditional 'Black Forest Cuckoo Clock' bought in Germany in the 70's. It had fallen off the wall and the mechanism was completely shaken out of kilter, the bellows for the cuck-oo" were shattered ... as well as some of the fine wood-carving needing repair. It was a forlorn mess. The Repairist attacked all these issues with gusto ... and miraculously brought the whole thing back to its crazy quirky life!It now serenades me on the hour and half hour with 'cuckoos' and a music-box version of "The Happy Wanderer". Bliss !The second clock was a little more conventional but no less impoftant to me. It was the clock which had graced my parents' mantlepiece for some 60 years ... which like the old music-hall song Grandfather's Clock :- "Stopped short

Before discovering the Repairist, I'd left a clock for repair at another repairers where it sat for almost two years and wasn't fixed. I was lucky to find the Repairist not far away in East Sussex and dropped my clock off to Quentin. He made me feel confident that he could carry out the repair and explained the likely waiting time and cost.Once my job had reached the top of his list, he phoned me to explain some issues related to the repair and set out my options. He also gave me a more precise cost for the work. Very soon after this the repair was complete and Quentin returned the clock to my home and set it up in situ.I would highly recommend Quentin's services: he is skilled, knowledgeable and interesting and he communicated helpfully and clearly throughout the process.

Excellent service carried out to my carriage clock. It took a while but was absolutely worth the wait. You can see that Quentin loves his profession and he goes the extra mile with his attention to every little detail.

We asked Quentin to give some TLC to a humble Smiths Enfield mantle clock that needed resuscitating. He gave our ticker the same high quality attention that you would expect for a high-end piece. The care and the obvious pride Quentin takes in his work is clear to see and we now have a revitalised time-piece that gallops along nicely. Fabulous service from a real gent.

Quentin Mackay worked his magic on an old clock we have had for about 8 years. It has been an ongoing problem to us since we’ve owned it despite being taken back to the reputable clock shop from whom we purchased it for repair in the past. We were really impressed with his straightforward approach and honest appraisal of the problems he found. I would highly recommend him to you! Our clock has run perfectly since Quentin fixed it!Sarah and Trevor Hince

Quentin at 'The Repairist' was extremely knowledgeable and his passion for clocks shone through. He did an excellent job on my clock, cleaning the face and sugar soaping the case, then waxing the bakerlite with conservation wax. My clock looked almost brand new and was serviced/cleaned expertly. I only had a minor adjustment to settle it when getting back home and Quentin provided a fact sheet to show me exactly how to do this. Would highly recommend and will be returning shortly with another clock. Excellent service and highly recommended.
