From the moment we arrived we found staff/volunteers kind and friendly. Unfortunately, I didn't get the gentleman's name but as soon as we arrived he asked if we had been before (we hadn't) and he then went through where everything was, the train timetables, the interactive parts of the steam works and where the Flying Scotsman was. He couldn't have been more helpful. The steam works was amazing as there was so much to see and do for our young children. We took a ride to the end of the line and back again pulled by Camelot (possibly new favourite train for the 4 year old!) and then we got to experience the Flying Scotsman footplate. We had an extremely enthusiastic child with us and everyone we met was willing to share their knowledge and stories about steam trains. Great day out.

Haven't been here before. A nice 22 mile round trip. We also had a ploughman's lunch on the train. Warehouse full of steam trains they have collected over the years. A lovely informative museum. Cafe and ice cream parlour and a shop. I definitely recommend this place. I'd advise people to park at Sheffield Park end of the line.

Booked this visit of the Flying Scotsman to the Bluebell line for last summer, unfortunately this was cancelled due to technical issues for the train and was rescheduled for this August. We arrived at the Sheffield Park Station a good 90 minutes before the event to enjoy the station itself. For those who love the age of steam this is a must, even if The F Scotsman isn't there, the other engines are great and the museum on platform 2 is fabulous. Thee is of course the well stocked gift shop & excellent cafe/pub on platform 1.Our Flying Scotsman event started at 5.30pm with canopays & Pimms on the platform before boarding the train. At this point I cease to be a stream buff. As you can't see the engine pulling you. (although I did get ash through the window over me & the table). I just enjoy the beautiful scenery. The Bluebell Railway is great, as I say if your a steam fan, it's a must, but even if your not, for a trip out its a great day.

So much to see at this place. First take a train ride to the end and back. Then the museum and the steamwork (kids loved this place(also the older kids 40+)). A lovely shop with helpful and friendly staff (got now a nice Christmas bubble to the tree) and the second hand shop. We also had dinosaurs at the station and the museum, had a lucky pick of the day. But they have done so much here for all generations to see.

Downloaded a special offer for the Bluebell railway that enables visitors to get 2 adults in for £28. Excellent value for money with a wonderful step back in time travelling in old carriages pulled by a steam loco. Great museum and book shop. The journey is about 45 minutes with a couple of stops on the way.Very friendly volunteers who are doing an excellent job. Even if you are not a railway enthusiast, this is a great day out for all the family.

Visited the steam lights, we were in a 3rd class private cabin which sat 6 on very comfy seats, other classes are available. We set off on our 25min outbound trip to hosted Keynes at 8:05pm, upon arrival we spent 30mins marvelling at the lights and watched the engine change ends of the train. We then embarked on our trip back to Sheffield park station. The lights along route were magical with a magic sound alerting you when a light was alongside. Both stations had toilets and café/bar facilities. Would recommend ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐.

Lovely railway. Very friendly staff, who are mostly volunteers. Terrific museum on the platform and locos displayed in a visitor shed. There is a nice model shop (bought a loco there). Will visit again.

Lovely little place. Traveled from Ipswich to see flying scotsmans. And was well set out and manned. Staff were amazing. And when I son went in to sensory overload they came to check he was OK. Was an amazing day out. Thank you

This is our third visit back to the Bluebell Steam Train Railway experience. I have treated my wife for her birthday to a vegan high tea once now, and the next time was for our wedding anniversary. We also did the 'Steam Lights' night time experience, which was nice and is great for the kids. As far as the high tea goes, the whole experience is beautiful. The staff are super friendly and they all go above and beyond. From the station staff to the carriage crew. The vegan high tea is exquisite, and the staff are always ready to refill you teapot! I love the ethos of the Bluebell Railway, as the whole place is run by volunteers. It's like stepping into a time machine back to the golden age of steam. Paying that little extra for the 1st class carriage is well worth it. If you want a romantic present for the love of your life then look no further!Highly recommend this experience for all you romantics.
