Calverts Carpets Ltd (York)

Avoid!! Had my flat carpets redone and the fitters cut the carpet in the hallways, left a ton of mess, meaning that I had neighbours and the management company complaining about the state of things. Calvert’s were totally unapologetic over the phone and said “they don’t carry hoovers with them” “it just looks like a little bit of carpet”. We then returned to find that one of our cabinets had been ripped off the wall without permission and has caused permanent damage. Heartbroken that a company thinks it is acceptable to leave a job in this way.I thought I would shop local but I have really really regretted it. Save your money and stress and go to somewhere with customer service and accountability. Awful.

A huge selection of carpets/rugs & great upstairs showroom. We wanted 2 x 3 mtr modern design rug & that size/style was more limited. However, the friendly assistant was more than helpful & guided us to our eventual purchase. Free delivery & a big thank you for adding us to the delivery list within 2days. Super service! The rug looks beautiful & is a real wow factor. Highly recommended.

Would like to say a huge thank you to Sandra at the upper Poppleton store.I was back and forth, back and forth choosing and debating prices and she had so much patience and understanding while i was making a selection.And I found my favorite flooring for the hallwayThanks to you down at Calverts

We needed a high quality vinyl flooring, and were advised to have a surveyor to plan the fitting. Appointment day arrived and he rang wanting to know why we weren't in..he was annoyed..he had gone to the wrong address.He arrived late at the right address and seemed up for an argument, looking me up..and ..down.He immediately told me he wouldn't go any further because he didn't want to get his shoes dirty! After persuasion..he entered our part built utility room ,insulted our builder straight away by suggesting he may not be able to achieve a level floor..he became argumentative turned around and stamped off to his car!! Calvert's were our go to company for 24 years supplying our several retail units and domestic properties. They will not get any more of our business, they don't answer the phone and on my last order in store served another customer over my shoulder while I was paying. A sad ending to a long ( profitable for them) relationship.

I had my new flat carpeted by Calverts and it was quite efficiently done though there was a long wait for the fitter as they are very busy. Slight downside was that the fitter left 2 doors very tight so I had to remove and shorten them myself, which was fun.

We had a positive experience with Calverts up until it came to the fitting of our carpets. It appears the fitters were given too many jobs meaning we only had one person fitting all our carpets (on two separate occasions). This meant us as customers, we had to help the fitter - there is no way it could have been done by one person! It's frustrating as we paid for fitting and shouldn't as customers, have to help with heavy lifting etc. We wanted the carpets in so we went along with this (especially as we've made ourselves available etc) but the fact we didn't get any money off from the fitters is poor and it should have been raised with Calverts. Clearly there is poor communication between the fitters and Calverts - don't send one fitter to a big job just to get more cash in your pocket!

Went to browse lino and carpet end of rolls. Huge amount in stock and well priced. We'd were left alone to browse until we'd asked for assistance. The sales person was very friendly and helpful. She explained all the different options without pressuring us to buy and even suggesting we're visit their other branch before we bought. Would we'll recommend.

Went to Calverts Carpets today looking for a rug a very nice young man Jamie asked had we found what we were looking for explained that we wanted a rug of a certain size and that we had been unable to find one .Jamie told us that we could have a look at roll ends and if we found one that we liked they could cut it and bind it for us we found a roll end for £35.00 the cost to bind it was £45.00 exactly the size and colour that we wanted excellent service from Jamie should be ready next week

I went in knowing what I wanted to happen but not how to go about it, armed with the dimensions of the room and a couple of photos on my phone. I spoke to the lady in there and she gave me advice on what sort of carpet I needed, other bits I might need and then booked me in with a fitter within the week.Excellent service, decent price (I think, I'm a complete noob so don't have anything to compare to) and swift turn around. Would use again.

Fantastic quality at a very competitive price. Friendly helpful Staff and the carpet fitters was brilliant top. Highly recommend Calverts for their broad range of carpets, vinyl, and rugs.
