7/8/2023Visited Southend-on-Sea with the family. Can't go to the beach without treating yourself to sea food.After spending time on Adventure Island, we dipped out to Wilkies. Monday was actually a good day to go. Southend wasn't so packed.There was one table to stop outside and it was quiet and we all felt relaxed. We all sat and enjoyed our treats. I forgot to take pics of the food which wasn't like me. Never mind pics next time.

I was worrying about they only accept cash only as there's no free for withdrawal cash machine available nearby, lucky that I could paid by card if the amount over £5.00. What a surprise for me and happy that they do accept card payment.

Stopped here twice for a snack while walking around Southend sea front.The owner's a great guy and i really enjoyed the chance to try old school seaside grub.The selection of food is good for a little seafood stand from Prawns and Whelks to Cockles and Mussels.Everything that I had was fresh and decently priced, I'll definitely be stopping by the next time we visit Southend.

Service was appalling the person did not look interested at all, the eels were over priced at £5 for small and £8 for large. The small we got 3 eels and basically a pot of jelly.Walk to the pier there is a better and priced better at £3.50 small ( get more than 3 eels too ) and large £6.80. It’s just across the road from the pier entrance in the arches.Been coming to Southend for years and this is the worst this place has been will not be trying again, shame tho just seems they over priced things because of where there are.

Classic shellfish bar with decent choice of seafood. It’s ok to grab a light snack and walk alongside the beach. Limited condiments to customise your seafood was a bit a let down.Dressed crab was ok but seafood sticks wasn’t good.
