The Velvet Burlesque

I had an absolute ball at The Velvet Burlesque. Lara was friendly, professional and a joy to work with!Everyone at the venue was lovely and made me feel really welcome. 10/10

We are so proud to say that we've worked with The Velvet Burlesque. Lara has built a team who's individuals are ALL dedicated and extremely capable. We felt in safe hands in terms of our tricky tech requirements, and were given ample time at sound check, with an additional amount of time from Lara's request, to make sure the feedback issue in tech did not repeat. This was very thorough, and ensured we could give the best version of our performance without having to work round any sound issue at all. Lara's backstage team were also exemplary. There wasn't a single thing unaccounted for and they checked how we would like our things stored after the show, and , even came to us a song before our host introduction to make sure we were comfortable again and ready to roll! Water and hot drinks were available and offered throughout to all of the performers. We saw them treat each act in the same way, and this goes to show how a tight backstage show can also really elevate the show entirely. Each performer was relaxed as a result and pushed their acts to the max, knowing they were so well supported. We would also like to mention Lara herself. Lara showed great kindness and compassion for our request of an aerosol free changing room, or for a space that we could ready Lucy that could remain aerosol free. Though this is something we have only recently began asking for for Lucy, and are aware this is not something all shows can provide, The Velvet Burlesque, specifically Lara as a professional, show showed the meaning of working conscientiously, and, divided the team backstage between two rooms where the team backstage were happy to comply. This was Kind, compassionate and IS what working inclusively with disability is about. The contact before, throughout and after was also, detailed, patient and thorough. A highly enthusiastic professional, with calm and thorough understanding of her craft, and, finally, a completely delightful experience.TheVixenTrio <3If you are a new cabaret performer - this is the show to work towards.If you are an established act- know that you will flourish here.If you are tricky to tech- they will show you you are worth it.And, If you've got something very special - no doubt, Lara will already have you in her sight.

I hired The Velvet Burlesque to provide entertainment at my wedding on the 30th September 2023. They were all AMAZING!!! Every single guest enjoyed it and said that it was one of the best weddings that they'd ever been to!Lara is a dream to work with. Performing for The Velvet Burlesque is one of those dream gigs that all performers wish would come along much more frequently.Lara Gothique has created a highly professional & tightly run ship of professional stage technicians and stagehands to create an easy, fun backstage experience. As soon as I parked my car, my many stage props were whisked away to be found in my dressing room when i returned. The sound technician went above and beyond to sort out some microphone issues, the stage lighting was beautiful as you can see by any photos.And now we come to the audience. Lara has attracted the most enthusiastic and well trained audience who obviously return each show and roar their approval. We had to turn down the dressing room monitor, the applause, whoops and cheers were so loud!So yes, I loved performing for The Velvet Burlesque and I will return in a heartbeat.Go see the show, be part of that fun and enthusiastic audience, the acts are top-notch, it's a fabulous night out!
