I absolutely love going to Cavanagh's! I first found their shop earlier this year and it has since become my main reason for visiting Edinburgh as often as I can. I really like that it's a small family run business and every time I have been, I have had a fantastic experience thanks to Simon and his Dad, you can tell how passionate they are and that they are both extremely knowledgeable about the items they have, which are all very interesting and unique. Their little store is beautiful and presented like a small museum, everything they have is a fascinating piece of history. I go mainly for numismatics and they have excellent pricing and some beautiful examples of historic coins, as well as lots of rare finds. It's been an amazing journey so far building my collection with Simon and I always look forward to going back whenever I have some time, to have a chat and get some new pieces for my collection. Thank you so much for the fantastic service and experience I am always given, it is greatly appreciated!

My only regret is that I didn't find it earlier! The shop owners were so friendly and felt more like family. You can find different old stuff for reasonable prices. You want a true Scottish gift? Go there and buy something.I'll make sure to visit this store whenever I go to Edinburgh again ☺️

Just returned from a short break in Edinburgh and happened to come across this little gem. After spotting a delightful antique ring in the window I just had to go in and I was so glad I did. It's jammed full of interesting treasures. The gentleman that served me was friendly and helpful and very patient with me as I couldn't make up my mind as there was too many to choose from! I will certainly be returning next time I visit Edinburgh and would highly recommend a visit to anyone looking for something that little bit unique.

We stopped by the wee shop when we were in Scotland, July 2019. I could have stayed there for hours listening to the owner tell about various items in the shop.Very kind and polite, great customer service. Purchase what you want when you go in person as they do not ship items, at least not then. Thank you again, a very memorable experience.

This is a lovely little antique shop in old town Edinburgh. The owners are friendly and the selection is quite extensive despite the small space. Everything from militaria and jewelry to dinnerware and art.

This antique store is really unique. I found it “by accident” walking through Cockburn street and I do not regret I went inside. The store is pretty small but has a lot of amazing things. I bought there old pictures and postcards from 1920. Prices are affordable, I would say they are perfect. The staff is very friendly, always ready to help. Definitely one of my secret and bestest places in Edinburgh. I hope I am able to go there again! Good job ❤️

I’m a teenager, so when I visit antique stores or coin stores the shop keepers usually look at me weird like I might be stealing something. But these guys were awesome, very kind and welcoming. Wide variety of mostly British coins but some foreign ones too.
