Halfords Autocentre Leeds (Meadow Road)

Used this Halford autocentre a number of time over the years and always found it good, however I took my car in to get the breaks checked on Monday as one of them was rubbing and was told all of the disks and pads now need changed and it was not safe to drive. After being quite shocked at the cost to do this I felt it was the only thing to do as I needed to pick the kids up later.The car was due to be finished by 5pm but at 4.30pm I got a call to say there was a issue with the calliper now and it would be another £300! Which I had to agree to as I could not drive it without it being fixed. Speaking to my local garage I think Halfords have charged me double for what I could have got done there.I would avoid this place at all costs unless you want to get ripped off!

Well, I chose to get my tyres changed here and I also needed a 4 wheel alignment doing. I picked the services I required on the website and it asked me which Halfords I required, I then proceed to pay. Upon arrival a few days later they told me they don’t do 4 wheel alignment at this site which did annoy and disappoint me as that’s what I paid for. It wasn’t the guys at Halfords that annoyed me they were good & professional and changed my tyres. It’s the website that needs updating. Letting me pick a site that doesn’t offer the service, that’s what made me disappointed in the service they provided. I had to go to a rival to get my wheels aligned.

Service and communication was good.However as a car enthusiast, do take precaution at changing tyres. Unfortunately my two front alloys were damaged/scratched in the process and it was obviously denied by them. Should have taken before and after photos, but have to learn from my mistakes and definitely won't be coming here to change again.

Been driving around in our car for the last two days since taking it in for a service at Meadow Lane Halfords and it has never driven so well. After years of taking it to the dealership for servicing, we are definitely using Halfords in future. The staff kept us informed at all times, the service was done in good time and it was efficient in all respects. Very happy!

Horrible place and Experience. Booked free suspension check today, slot at 11:30 after almost 3 hours check still wasn't done. I was asked to wait a moment and assured someone will quickly check car. I went inside store to kill some time after 5 minutes I walked out and noticed car is in garage and within few seconds big commotion around my car literally every employee was near it. I was given keys back and told all is good also being downplayed in meantime by them saying the noise I hear from suspension is probably caused by plastic covers and left fog light that where damaged during accident?? What accident I was thinking?? I just bought car few days ago and it was in very good condition! When I got back to car I saw fresh body damage so I dashed back to garage reception because I noticed they managed to severely damage my car! Person that supposed carry on check on way to garage hit something, bumper was damaged stripped off from paint, dented and deformed, impact was so unfortunate it also damaged fog light housing (they even admitted it when downplaying me on reception) and that's not all they also managed to damage my mirror (scraped off paint plus black plastic cover from under ripped off). This is just shocking!! I was only told someone will contact me on Monday to sort it out and that's it! not a single word of apology!! This is disgusting I recommend to stay clear from this place!

Normally I would give 5 stars, but my visit to Halfords this time was disappointing. After having a new cambelt and water pump replaced a week before, I was told by the mechanics to keep an eye on the car temperature, as they replaced the fan belt free of charge. Anyway after 3/4 days, the cars temperature gauge was heating up quickly, with only a couple of miles driven. So I booked a day the mechanic was free, I took car in and was advised of the time scale, which was 3 hours, 3 hours passed and I was told the mechanics never had a chance to look at it as they had 2 MOT'S to do, so I have wasted my time and why didn't they contact me stating they couldn't look at my car, so again I have to make another appointment, oh by the way, I was told that the said mechanic had taken a holiday break, knowing I had an appointment with them. Due to my ill health, days, times are precious, due to the amount of different health professional I see, I booked with Halfords when I'm not at physio, or other healthcare appointments, but to book an appointment, with no phone call after I booked the car in, 3 hours went by, on my return to say mechanic is on holiday, unannounced, and car not looked at, was terribly annoying, another day was booked for Friday 20th October. That appointment has been cancelled by me due to another heath appointment. So Now waiting for Halfords to phone me if Monday 23rd October is free for me to return at 08:30 am. Hence why I dropped 2 stars due to the above let down.Friday 20th October, new appointment made and I was at Halfords Auto Centre, mechanic was waiting for me, within two hours the car work was done. Very happy now, just a pain to have previous appointment messed up. I will be back.

Will tell you need brakes to pass mot and won't prove the machine readout. Brakes were fine and didn't need replacing. Do not trust this garage.

i ended up in a critical situation close to the shop with a burst tyre. They usually work on a booking sytem but ordered and fit me a new tyre within 2hrs - incredibly impressed, I wouldn't have been able to get home.

MOT & Full service done on 21st August.Rang at 5pm saying it was done, when i got the invoice of what was advised if they had rang earlier to check costs with me, I would have gone ahead with Wheel Change. Following Friday I set off on a Journey and the Service ESC light pops on, why wasn't this checked in the MOT or Service? Saturday came, I checked under the bonnet and the ignition coil had broke, again why wasn't this checked? Was perfectly fine before the MOT & Service. Won't be returning, ended up fixing it myself.
