Squire's Garden Centre

Lovely garden centre with a good selection and an animal area that kids seem to love looking around. Always a good selection of seasonal decorations. Big outdoor area too with many plants and trees. And great cafe as well. Easy place to spend a couple of hours browsing, picking up bits, and having a bite and a cup of tea!

Have always enjoyed seeing the Christmas set up every year along with the large range of decorations for sale.We often use the separate coffee and cake cafe from the restaurant due to large range of cakes and drinks for while family. Having popped in on a Saturday 3pm for cake and drink we noticed a third of tables still had old plates and cups piling up with what seemed very little staff to tidy up after. I had to move other people's stuff just to clear the table for my family. One lady serving behind the till who worked very hard but the long line of customers would warrant more staff serving. When cakes and coffee finally came out we noticed there was still very little activity with clearing tables for other customers.I would give more stars but the lack of staff meant long waiting times and a general untidiness to place. Despite running out of hot chocolate the Cakes and drinks were good

Garden center was great, but the cafe refused to serve us breakfast when they said there menu was till 11:30. We were there at 11:25 and they don't serve lunch till 12:00. Apparently the manager has told staff they can't give out menus past 11:15. Really great day seeing Santa with the little one and the cafe not serving put a damper on the garden center as had to leave early as my little boy needed some food.

Very disappointing visit with friends to the cafe. The cafe was in an awful state with food and rubbish on the floor and tables which required clearing. Complained and asked to use restaurant area. Staff were helpful there and Katy who served us was delightful. We passed on our comments regarding the cafe. There seems to be a shortage of staff to clear tables and floors in cafe area. Considering this appears to be a newly refurbished cafe are I’m surprised standards are so low. I guess staffing may be the issue which is a management responsibility. Customers should not be expected to sit surrounded by mess or be expected to clear tables we are paying for our refreshments and expect a clean place to sit in. Such a pity that standards have fallen so much. Very hard and unfair for the few working staff to be expected to be on top of everything.Do hope as a company you will get on top of the problem.

Was here to meet friends for lunch. Service was good! Shout out to Laura in the kitchen, I couldn't do your job. Thank you. We booked a table, which around this time of year, was the right thing to do. Thank you to all staff

Big parking space, sell nearly everything from household, clothes, furniture, of course plants too and lots of them. Cafe and restaurant are very clean. Outdoor sitting near playground. Safe for children while parents can sit and have coffee. Toilets near by. Large Aquatic life and indoor pets department not to be missed.

We love this garden centre. I have been visiting for years due to their aquatics section. The garden centre side is great and always has excellent gifts, although the products tend to Be a little pricey. Prices are inline with most other garden centres though so I can't be too critical on that one. I have more experience with the aquatics and have to say the staff in that area are well educated in aquatics and clearly employed for their credentials specific to aquatics and rightly so. In general the aquatics have everything you need, it's not like a converted nissin hut as some places can be, and the equipment/tank side of things always has good variety all presented nicely and easy to find what you need. Overall 5* for Badshot lea Squires.

Nice garden centre generally with a good selection of plants, gardening tools and chemicals as well as a restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and various snacks. Outside the restaurant is also an area with various foods such as sweets and cakes, as well as a fridge with cold drinks. The garden centre can also cater for pets with a wide range of livestock, food and various other pet essentials. They sell indoor and outdoor plants which always seem to be well stocked at all times of year. My one criticism is that they don’t sell any electrical tools such as lawn mowers or hedge trimmers. Other than that, the garden centre can cater for many needs and is worth a visit.

Garden centre is great. Don't bother going to get food.We had to ask a member of staff to get our order after waiting for 20 minutes.A further hour later and our food arrives after we asked staff several times where it was. All of our drinks had gone cold by the time the food did arrive.The food that did arrive was cold also, 'fresh' chips were stone cold.

Really nice garden centre with a restaurant and cafe area. Nice place for all the family to visit. There is an area of pets and aquatics, probably the nicest I've visited. Great selection of plants, solar lighting, garden furniture etc. We stopped here on our way home from staying in the area, the only thing was my son spent nearly £40 on lego and was meant to receive a small lego gift when spending a certain amount, he didn't receive the gift so he was a little disheartened when he realised. As we live about 100 miles away, we couldn't come back to enquire about it! But, all round great place to visit and we would visit again if in the area.
