Had a gift voucher for an afternoon tea as a belated birthday gift. Having read the previous reviews I was very sceptical about attending this venue. However, the staff were all very friendly. Although very busy, a table soon became available in this small site.We were delighted that there was no overwhelming music playing overhead and my husband and I could have a conversation without raising our voices over music. The venue is small and many potential customers could not get seated & left. However, the staff politely explained the situation and offered to reserve a table or gave customers an approx timeline to return and recheck availability. The bread, rolls & cake selection were fresh. The fillings were somewhat unusual but we were asked beforehand re any allergies. The scones were warm with plenty of fresh cream & individual pots of jam.We also enjoyed an extravagant cake voucher as part of the generous gift.We came away with 4 splendid choices of cake which were safely boxed and bagged for ease of carrying home & shared with the family later.Overall a very positive experience. We are pleased we kept an open mind and visited this venue.

Had afternoon tea today. Just normal. a couple of the sandwiches bit dry. Customer service non existent. No napkins just kitchen roll. Saw the girl literally throw the scones in to be heated up. Tables not cleared or wiped down. Very disappointing . The place is very cramped and too hot today. They don't have enough room to work in.

Had a lunch voucher given to us , not much of a selection to choose from ,But what we had to eat and drink was just ok , nothing more than ok.The weather was great when we visited in June and sat outside.

A nice enough afternoon tea. Have been here many times. Today the place was partially closed for staff training. Basically meant you could not sit outside on such a beautiful sunny day. The service wasn't very attentive. Had to ask for more tea, staff didn't come back after serving the cake and sandwich stand. Cakes, scones and sandwiches tasty. Very run of the mill though.P S have had a lovely email from this company expressing their disappointment with the recent service and sent a voucher as an apology.

This was my first and last visit. We decided to sit for cake and tea, there was three people behind the bar area. We waited ages to be served with no acknowledgement that they would be with us shortly. We ordered four caked and two teas, £25, we took a seat and waited ages for the tea and cake to be brought over - even though they were not serving anyone else. When the cakes arrived it was all plastic cutlery (can't be brand standard surly) They then brought the tea over with plastic teaspoons. When the tea arrived the milk was off and curdled in the tea. I complained about the milk and and when she went to get another pot of tea one of the staff members quit, she literally down tools and said that there was too much wrong in the place and quit. Clearly this team member who quit knows that the business is being run shockingly. It's supposed to be a premium experience. Reading the other reviews I think this place needs a visit from EHO to show staff what's acceptable practice in food prep as I don't appear to be the only person who has received low food quality standards.

Dropped in for a coffee this morning, unfortunately it was the worst Americano I've ever tasted (and I've had some ropey ones) the tables were dirty & uncleared (see photo), even though it wasn't busy. The staff seemed like they wanted to be elsewhere (can't blame them for that) overpriced slices of cake which did come with a free wasp though..Avoid if you have taste buds.

I’ve always been a customer of this patisserie. They have the best cakes in the whole of Hampshire and I’ve always been greeted and treated lovely by the staff. Every birthday I buy their cakes and I can say we have always been happy. I wouldn’t go anywhere else. I would definitely recommend them and wouldn’t or couldn’t say a bad word about the shop or the staff.Thankyou for all the nice cakes.
