I have brought my two favourite guitars to Ash on two different occasions 16 months apart. An electric and an acoustic.Both times were for pretty major work, both had completely new fret jobs new nuts, full set up, neck tweaks etc.Both times the guitars came back to me better than they had ever played before. He fully maximized them. It's as if they finally feel finished.I cannot recommend enough. He's the real deal.

I completed a guitar set-up course with Ash. I took along 2 electric guitars - we did one each, with Ash guiding me through all the processes. For a one to one lesson, this course is great value. Ash is also a very good teacher, calm and patient. Although advertised as 4 hours long, I was there around 5 hours - until both guitars were finished. I thoroughly recommend this course to anyone who has 2 guitars or more. Fantastic !

I can thoroughly recommend Ash's setup course. It's fantastic value for four hours one-on-one with and with two guitar setups.Ash is a great teacher: knowledgable, thorough, and patient.

Excellent service. Ashley set up my latest Epiphone casino bought 2nd hand a short time ago and hadn't been played for 20 years by the look of it. Ash cleaned it up, lowered the action and altered the relief and changed the bridge and jack plug, plays beautifully and sounds great. Nice friendly guy easy to do business with, did exactly what I wanted and very good value compared to other guitar techs.

I just picked up my old ('73) Martin D35 from Ash Nightingale after some much overdue remedial TLC . The guitar had taken a considerable amount of hard use over the years, so I was pleased to at last find a local guitar maker to take care of it.The neck was planed to remove some serious wear, then new frets, nut, bridge pins and saddle.Finally, the old warped and detached pickguard was replaced with a nice ebony veneer.I'm really pleased with the high standard of craftsmanship, and the high quality materials used, all within a sensible and reasonable budget.The guitar now plays like new .... great action, tone and intonation, so I would have no hesitation to recommend Ash if you have any problem with your instrument. 5 stars.

I used many different guitar repairshops over the last 45 Years. In the UK and in Germany. They all did OK-Jobs. No more. Charging a fortune. Some ruined my Instruments.With Ashly however you have craftsmanship to the highest standard.I just picked up my Archtop which needed some work done. Not a very expensive guitar. After Ashley had finished; it felt and played like a brandnew high end Instrument. Even better. I should know. I owned a couple of very expensive Instruments. The absolutely perfect setup and all the new controlls worked finally as they should. From now on all my Instruments are only touched by Ashley. The man does really understand guitars and absolutely knows what he is doing. Highly recomented.Dont waste your money by going somewhere else.

Bought myself a diy kit guitar and couldn't believe how good the playability of the guitar was. However, being that it was just a cheap kit guitar, the frets were a bit rough so I decided to get Ashley to do a full re-fret just to finish the job off properly. I decided i wanted the Evo gold wire to used aswell.Ashley done an amazing job, plays perfectly. Well worth the money.I highly recommend his workmanship, absolutely flawless.
