Friendly informative staff. Boat trips from lock on Sundays.Well worth a visit and trip on the canal.

Nice place to sit and enjoy a cuppa next to canal. Only downside is the very limited parking available nearby on roadside. Double yellow lines all around, a shame some of the car dealerships next door couldn't allow some parking beside their showrooms.

Went on the canal trip, which was about an hour. But unfortunately, it broke down on the return. The staff on the boat were very apologetic. We did see the funny side of it and we had to walk the plank and walk the short distance back. We did enjoy the trip. At the lock cafe we had some lovely cake and as we were leaving we could see them pulling the boat back by hand.

Narrow boat just came into the lock. Nice bike ride from poolsbrook park. Good cuppa before returning back . Staff really friendly and knowledgeable.

Nice place to walk. Little visitor’s centre and shop. Good walks both ways along the canal and great views of the river. Sculptures and art installations around and under the bridge. On road parking. Toilet facilities available

Enjoyed a cuppa and flapjack here and the dogs even got a bonio biscuit.Lovely little pitstop on our walk and very reasonably priced, will call again.

Met with our grandchildren here today. Nice walk along the towpath.. Fed the ducks and nice little visitors centre selling hot drinks snacks and gifts.

Didn't go to the visitor centre. Cycled along the Trans Pennine trail. Good tracks, well-signposted. Lots of people were using the trail: hikers, dog-walkers, families and casual walkers. Very quickly got a sense of being in the countryside even though we were still in Chesterfield. Very good blackberry picking too

Information center for the Chesterfield canal. Tea coffee and cakes available. Lots of information re walks and maps of the canal. Boat trips available most Sundays. Toilets open when the shop is. Local street parking available if visiting by car. Great place for dog walk with easy walk into Chesterfield and back along the canal.

Typically a quiet and relaxing location with boat trips available at weekends. In September Junction Arts and Derbyshire County Council put on a Festival. Check the Chesterfield Canal Trust Web site for details of any events
