Yesterday we made an unplanned visit to this lovely little patisserie. Mainly to admire the sheer artistry of the beautiful cakes.On the strength of this we decided to replan our day today so that we could experience the afternoon tea as a wedding anniversary celebration. It certainly did not disappoint. Everything was fantastic. The food as delicious as it looks, the service so very friendly and the setting delightful.The owner is extremely friendly and passionate about his products and this is reflected in the quality of the food.Highly recommend you give this a try, you won’t be disappointed.PS I forgot to take a photo of the delicious scones!

Stopped in here after a particularly stressful day and immediately felt relaxed. The owner was very kind and took time to listen to my allergens. The apricot tart was one of the best I’ve eaten, and the vibe was very casual. I’m definitely coming back!

Having recently returned from France, I was very excited to find a cafe that offered bakery items on the level of a French patisserie. The owner was very kind and chatted to everyone that entered his shop. He told me he works 115 hours a week baking and is always trying to perfect his buttery, crusty croissants. He’s succeeded! And the “New York Rolls” that are round and filled with either pistachios, raspberry, or hazelnut were incredible. Better than a cruffin. Definitely stop in for a bite to eat and a coffee.

This place put a smile on my face and brought back a lot of good memories : ) As a French person living in Oxford, I’ve always missed the taste of French pâtisserie. I love everything about this place: the warm atmosphere, the professional staff, the variety of choices (selection of sweet and savoury options), cleanliness, and of course the amazing pastries served with hot drinks….from the flaky croissants and pains au chocolat, the delicious Castel, the refreshing Trompe L’œil, the soft textured and flavoured macarons (the best in Oxford), and the surprising flan with a layer of authentic praline… to name but a few! The chef is always there for a good advice if you struggle to make your choice : )

I highly recommend Saint Clair Valentine! We had afternoon tea and the food was beautifully arranged and delicious. The atmosphere was lovely and the service was excellent! We felt very welcomed and comfortable, and it was a lovely experience.

Cakes are amazing. Five stars. Beautiful works of art and super delicious as well. Initially may look pricey, but based on flavour, looks and execution, they represent reasonable value compared to what is available elsewhere IMO. Coffee is just so so… Could be improved, and more robust. Would only give three stars for the coffee. Cafe is delightful. Tastefully decorated, with gorgeous display of cakes labelling all different types. I had a cake shaped like a mango with a yummy cream filling together with real mango and covered with coloured white chocolate on top of a crunchy biscuit. Chocolate brownie was to die for. Nicely furnished with tables not too close together. Amazing people watching if you get the window looking out on to Oxford High Street. Good for a natter as it’s not too loud. There was also pleasant jazz background music. I’ve been here twice in a week, which I think is enough recommendation. It’s definitely a place to try and I would give it five stars plus if coffee was improved. However, on current form four stars.

The best café in all of Oxford. The pastries are amazing and coffee is delicious as well. Highly recommended! My new favourite spot in Oxford

The food is lovely we went in at lunch time for the pain au chocolat and a pear slice, it was so nice that we went back later in the day to get the chocolate and vanilla cake and a donut, also 2 scones and cream, the staff are really nice and extremely helpful. The place was very well laid out and very peaceful. Would definitely go back when I am in Oxford again.
