If you enjoy delicious food, you have to head for Root! I would recommend booking in advance as they get full quickly. For a table of two, around 5-7 dishes is perfect. The team brought the food out gradually so we weren't buried under dishes and it's perfect. They could cater for gluten free with no issue.Mainly vegetarian dishes, but they are so tasty! My personal favourite was the Potatoes, the carrot and the cabbage!There is both outdoor and indoor seating with heaters if you sit out. It is upstairs but there is disabled access via the lift.

At first I could not believe that this place had no 1 star reviews. But now eating there, I can really feel why this place is amazing. It might be the journey of your lifetime. it’s delicious and amazing.

We absolutely love Root. Worth the trip over from the Welsh side of the bridge. The food is outstanding local, seasonal produce and each dish is so well thought out and put together, the chefs here definitely know their stuff. The staff are absolutely lovely and the place itself is really clean and welcoming. Looking forward to another visit soon!

Root is a small and cozy restaurant in Bristol, situated in quirky shipping containers. The menu is mostly vegetarian with a wide variety of tapas-style dishes meant to share. The cocktails are nice and fresh, perfect for the hot summer. All the dishes were delicious with fresh products and interesting flavours. Personal favourite is the tempura spring onions. The staff are friendly, efficient and smiley. Overall very nice experience, recommend it!

Had loaf of bread, oyster, and grilled leek with a soft drink. Enjoyed everything from the plating and taste. the oyster was really juicy and grilled leek was beautifully cooked with just the right amount of tenderness. The staffs were very kind and helpful too. Recommend the outdoor seats as indoor seats could be a little crowded and noisy.

Outstanding lunch here today. Each dish was delicious, had 5 dishes between 2 and a dessert each. Lovely to have such a wide selection of vegetarian options on a menu. Would highly recommend the crispy cauliflower and sprouting broccoli especially! Staff were very friendly and attentive too

Veggie focused small plates and natural wine. The food was very good, great wine list and friendly service. Plenty of gluten free options. The host was very helpful and accommodating.

Fantastic restaurant with a brilliantly warm atmosphere! The food truly is excellently prepared, and the staff attentive without being overbearing. They took care of my partner's food allergies and ensured he knew what was safe to eat. We were 6 and had the most fantastic time, great wine list too!
