Knowle Farm

Excellent place to stay with young kids. We visited recently in mid June and had a great time. The weather was brilliant, so admittedly that opens up many options that poorer weather might not allow. The farm itself is very well set up with an outdoor toy car track, indoor soft play, wildlife walks and indoor swimming pool. The accommodation we had was very well sized (stayed in the 2 bed converted barn adjacent to the pool). The weather was unusually hot on our stay, so at times a little tricky to keep everything cool but the same could be said of any accommodation without aircon. The family running the farm are incredibly helpful and welcoming. They happily go about their business and nothing is too much trouble. Dan, in particular, was great in that he sorted us with a different high chair, recommended a garage when I needed it, and welcomed my son to feed the peacock on his morning rounds. The animals on site make for good entertainment for the toddlers. Access to the site is narrow, but quiet and similar to other narrow country roads in Devon. Drive to the local beaches is around a minimum of 25 mins in off-peak holiday times. We enjoyed our stay.

We had a great week at Knowle Farm. The soft play, rabbit/Guinea pig runs, mini golf and swimming pool (which is warm enough and a great size) were a particular hit with the kids, and the adults enjoyed the table tennis and pool tables. It was lovely to have the chickens, ducks, turkeys and peacock wandering around the farm and being able to visits the other animals too. The owners were on hand but discreet and we loved how quiet it felt despite other families staying at the same time. The only negatives were the approach road which, as others have said, is full of potholes and tricky if you meet someone coming the other way (which only happened once) and you can hear the A38 faintly in the background from outside - this does mean it’s really well connected though. Overall a great place to say which I would really recommend for families with young children.

Aside from the tiny road that you need to travel to get here, this is an amazing place to stay for a holiday (if you have a young child). The farm has lots of animals that they can interact with as well as a very well equipped indoor play area and a swimming pool. The farm has sheep, rabbits, Guinea pigs, a horse, a donkey and plenty of ducks & chickens.

Just returned home from a lovely family holiday at the farm. Excellent accommodation (we stayed in Woodbine) with plenty of room. The weather was freezing outside but the house was warm and cozy. This is an ideal place to stay with small children. The play barn is well set up, the pool was lovely and the animals are friendly. We would happily recommend this venue to anyone with young children and we would certainly return to visit as there is so much to do in this part of Devon.

My 3 year old grandson had the time of his life. It would have been nice if the children could collect the egg's.The pool, soft play and animals really made the experience magical.Owners very helpful and offered advice if you need it.

The family and I loved our stay at Knowles Farm. It wasn't a problem if the the weather was good or bad, the farm had loads to offer on both sunny and rainy days.Our kids had recently both learnt to swim so the pool was a perfect rainy day option, there is soft play, mini golf, animals to pet, animals to feed, a small park, to me the place was perfect.I share our stay at Knowles Farm with friends and family and would definitely recommend to any family with young children and a taste for the outdoors.

Excellent place for young families to explore and learn about farms, animals and nature. Great walks, friendly farmers and plenty to do for us. Love the swimming pool, rabbit enclosure, the ducks and the mini soft play!

Beautiful location, friendly hosts and fantastic for children with loads to see and do without even leaving the farm. Good proximity to stunning beaches and loads of days out. Would definitely stay again.

Thank you so much for such an amazing holiday. There was so much to do at the farm and plenty in the surrounding area for our week away. The accommodation was outstanding and had everything we needed for the week and it was fantastic to be able to use an indoor swimming pool, softplay and feed the animals where we were staying. We would definitely recommend Knowle Farm and I'm sure we'll be staying again the future.

Knowle Farm is absolutely fantastic for families with young children. We had the best week staying here with our children (3 and 1). The lane down to the farm is narrow and bumpy but this adds to the rural feeling away from the stress of normal life! We loved the pool, soft play, crazy golf, outdoor play area, ride-on cars & bikes, and all the animals. We especially enjoyed feeding the rabbits & guinea pigs with some carrot or apple each day!
