Lovely club with enjoyable 9 hole course which isn't too taxing. Good food choices and not bad prices but do they really need to try and deliver upmarket ingredients and presentation? Expensive butter portions, sourdough toast and baked beans in a ramekin in a traditional breakfast. Really?? Anecdotally, people would prefer good ingredients, standard butter and beans on a plate and a cheaper price.

A challenging course, mostly in very good condition, with plenty of trees and water, and rather narrow fairways on some holes. Very good value with a county card.

Friendly, unpretentious golf & country club with excellent facilities. 18 hole course, 9 hole par three course, driving range, gym and clubhouse.

Although one may not be a golfer, this is still a good venue for those wishing a good inexpensive lunch with a decently kept ale, with some fine views whilst enjoying them (there is a midling good wine list also)This reviewer was there to join a small group of like minded souls to have lunch (the 'Surprise Pie' was excellent and lived up to the name) and to watch the Lions go one up in the first of three Test matches against the South African Springboks.A good above average lunch, washed down with an excellent beer (St Austell's Tribute 4.2%abv in superb condition) and watched a game that had a scary first half, but resolved itself in the second with a satisfactory result.The staff were amiable, clearly customer focused, the service was prompt and the whole ambiance very congenial.The men's loo though - it can get a little 'cosy' Pick your moment.

Lovely grounds, and club house. Nice bar area, and the breakfast is good too. Lots of parking, haven't tried the spa, or driving range yet but they both look quite good / interesting. Will definitely return here for the breakfast!

I took my mother to FP restaurant as I remember they always did a fabulous carvery on a Sunday. Alarm bells should have rung when I called 2 days prior to book a table and they had availability, this would have been unheard of previously. To our dismay there was no carvery, instead the meal was plated. There were only 2 other tables eating & a total lack of atmosphere. The food was bland and in no way worth £24!!! Even the Litton (which is far superior) only charges £18. My advice would be to consider bringing back the carvery and stop charging such ridiculous prices, before you totally kill that place.

Had our company Xmas party last nite atHad Farrington and definitely not impressed. Food was terrible and the bar ran out of a number of drinks, even sparkling water, an hour into the evening. Unbelievable that management didn't ensure the bar was well stocked! On the plus side the DJ was excellent with a fab mix of tunes.Definitely wouldn't recommend this venue

Myself and my husband were both really impressed with our lunch here today. The restaurant is clean and relaxing, the service was great and the food was delicious. We shared squid in panko for starters, then had a burger and jacket potato for mains. The portions were generous, it was presented beautifully and it all tasted amazing. My husband said the burger patty was one of the best he’s had- no onion powder, just lovely, well seasoned mince. My jacket potato was cooked perfectly. The squid was also cooked to perfection and came with coriander, chilli’s and sauce. A chef that knows how to send food out the kitchen for sure! We will be back soon as we are both keen to try their breakfasts and roast dinners now we know how good the food is! The setting is also beautiful, even in the rain like today!

Popped in at the last minute for a meal. Fantastic meal. Steak as main course and squid as a starter. Fresh vegetables. Highly recommended, will certainly go again. Service is outstanding. Compliments to all the staff.
