I can’t say thank you enough to this lovely team of people who took our 2 dogs & 2 cats (all rescues with various issues) at a moment’s notice when our other plans fell through. Not only did they take our babies, they were so well looked after and came home quite content from their holiday.

Really good kennel - they looked after our dogs at quite short notice after the place we usually use lost our booking. The staff are lovely & professional & our dogs seemed quite happy when we picked them up. We’d definitely use again.

Our dog has been twice and come back very happy both times. No frills, so if you want pampering I suggest you go somewhere further south, like Brighton. For us it's the place we take here. As she'll get good walks and a well structured space to board.

Nope! Just no. Dropped my 2 year old boy off on 31st July in a healthy, happy state. Collected him on 10th August as you see in pictures below. Eyes swollen and full of pus, extremities sore bleeding. His face almost fur-less and full of old and new scabbing. His chest and abdomen covered in red, scaly skin and bald in places. Between his paws and his pads - red raw and my boy has never looked so sad. Like the before pic of a rescue. Liz couldn’t tell me why a vet wasn’t called, why we weren’t called. Lenny was rushed to a vet and they can’t tell us what happened but confirmed negligence. He is on 3 medications. Liz told me she was shocked at how bad he looked but said he didn’t look that bad the day before. The vet stated that wasn’t possible. I went on their FB and found the second picture below of Lenny, taken 3 days before collection. His eyes puffy and full of scabs and pus. She claimed Charlotte had been bathing his eyes with saline but the build up of pus suggests otherwise. I was told it’s normal policy to call a vet and no reason could be given as to why that didn’t happen. As Lennys back is the only part of him unaffected the vet suspects a chemical burn or reaction. But no vet treatment was sought and my boy suffered hugely as it became a systemic problem; he is losing so much hair and is so sore he was shaking. My cat came home 3kg underweight I had her checked after Lenny lost 2.5kg. My other dog was fine.I don’t have any clear answers. I am heartbroken. Anger isn’t a strong enough word. Liz said she would refund and asked me to update but the time to show interest in my dog was when he was in her care. My dogs won’t board anywhere again. Don’t risk it. They have a 90+ capacity, Lenny was there at 55. He wasn’t cared for he was simply caged. I will never forgive them or myself for taking him.

Sweetwell saved my bacon recently when I had to travel to Turkey with virtually no notice for a family emergency. They found space for my two dogs and gave them a home from home while I was away. The folk at Sweetwell love dogs, this is clear, and they understand what makes them tick. As well as a safe place to eat and sleep they get off lead exercise in a secure paddock and lots of love and fuss. And all in the most glorious rural setting. Thank you to Liz, Charlotte and all the team. I wouldn't use anywhere else.

Never left my dog there but it's a bloody good place to ride your trials bike

Nope! Dropped our dog for a week. Happy sausage when he went in, playful with dogs and great in his crate. After pick-up we noticed his harness had been left on and he had chewed through part of it because of this - obviously they hadn't even noticed or bothered - and he has been aggressive with other dogs and has started to chew his cage since.

My dogs stayed there and they have neglected to give a proper duty of care towards my dog she has come back thin and scarred when I've told them she does not mix well with other dogs I'm now taking her to the vet as she's showing signs of being in pain. This should have been picked up on by their trained staff. I'm disgusted in their lack of carer hey didn't even put down the food I took with me.
