House of Tailoring , Alterations & Dry Cleaning

I've just had a Barbour gilet taken in to improve the fit and create a more flattering shape and the result is perfect. I bought it in the knowledge that it would need to be altered and was a little hesitant in case the reshaped garment did not live up to my expectations as has been the case with previous alterations elsewhere. I now realise that the key thing is whether the person pinning the item knows what they're doing as if that's wrong the skill of the tailor is irrelevant. Clearly these guys do and I will be back.

Went there to give them three pillows for dry cleaning.Tried three times to collect in store after agreed collection date but pillows were not available. Paid at third attempt in store after agreement of delivery to my home. Once the pillows were delivered late evening, they were still damp and super flat meaning they were not properly treated. Developed a rotten smell on the next day so had to bring them to my proven dry cleaner in Richmond to get them properly dry cleaned.Icing on the cake was that I received a text message later on the day of delivery with the ask to transfer the total amount to one of their bank accounts despite I paid in store, which was then explained as a 'mistake'.Two suits were cleaned to my satisfaction but overall I will not come back - clearly they struggle with jobs which aren't plain vanilla dry cleaning services.

They let me visit 3 times and it turns out nothing is done with my clothes! If I didn't claim, then they could just return me un-done clothes! They are outsourcing dry cleaning so don't waste your time to go there but goes where has got proper cleaning machines.

Been several times now and items come back still dirty. It’s as if they press them but do not clean.

When there is a problem, they remain calm and make customers need their priority unlike some other tailors in town who don't hold back their rude behavior. We have worked with HOT for more than 4 years and have found them very good at what they do. No doubt they work under huge pressure as pretty much every customer want their clothes altered in no time and managing the delivery of quality tailoring with high speed of work isn't easy but they do it really well. We will recommend them however would say that please do give them appropriate time to complete your alterations.

Fantastic customer service coming from a highly skilled and professional team. Have been my go-to tailor for any clothing alterations, repairs and dry cleaning.My dry cleaning order was a little late but the staff went through all possible steps to ensure I got the clothes in time for my event. I am very happy with the overall experience and would definitely recommend to anyone.

An absolute gem! Staff are super friendly and helpful. They go above and beyond to serve you and their work is impeccable. The best repair i’ve had done since I moved to the UK 10 years ago. Will keep using them.

This used to be my go to place to get all clothing alterations and repairs done at because it was recommended by a friend, and at first it was great 1 day turn around and I was very pleased with the results. But recently the service and wait times have been getting longer. Most recently I was quoted £15 and 5 days waiting time for a small hole that needed to be repaired on my jeans. I went in just after lunch of the agreed day 5 days later, to which they struggled to find the jeans and it turned out they hadn't been touched since dropping them off. Upon this I was told by the grumpy owner they would be ready in 30 minutes, which I had been told before and complied, but it seems like a common occurrence as the man in-front of me was told the same thing. I ended up taking them elsewhere and received great service with a quick turnaround, which will be my new go to. I understand that small businesses have busy times and struggle with high quantities with little staff, but given all the factors I think 3 stars is a fair review for the service.

House Of Tailoring came recommended. The staff are friendly and welcoming.They are a small team and take on a lot of work; this means that customers may wait a while before being served and the staff look high and low for completed items.I took my wedding dress there to be altered.House of Tailoring had my dress 17 days longer than expected. They promised that it would be ready for collection/delivery that evening/the next day for days and days. I got the dress back 9 days before my wedding...There were still problems with the dress. Some were not the fault of House of Tailoring although I went for many fittings and think they should have said how bad the fit was around my chest... The bustle was a bit too obvious, the button was ivory on a white dress, there were pulls Int the tulle, some of which looked like tears, the seam of the ribbon was pulling apart and had a shoe print on it when I went for a fitting. I saw the dress stepped on a few times.I was given a discount for the delay.But the experience and delay was upsetting and stressful.I have now recieved a new dress and days before my wedding, have entrusted to a seamstress recommended by someone else, the same seamstress who saw me in the first dress once and explained what was wrong with the fit and how it would change the design of the dress to alter the fit around the chest - probably why House of Tailoring didn't.

I never leave reviews because i can’t be bothered but when i look for certain services i believe reviews are important. I used House of Tailoring to get my jeans shortened on the waist and leg and to get the legs slimmed. Houro done this within an hour! I collected the next day. The jeans fit exactly how i wanted. The pricing is very reasonable. Would definitely recommend!
