Lovely place and quiet

Great place for keeping fit, running or biking

A fantastic wood for walks and great views of the setting sun. I wish they would stop cutting down trees though, and there is a plan to build houses next to the wood which will spoil this beauty spot. Some paths may be closed too. Look up 'friends of Ridge Hill Woods.'

Amazing woodland, full of wildlife, clean air and all the sounds and smells of nature, come here to walk your dog, catch a breath of fresh air or just enjoy a wander. It is a shame they want to tear it down and build houses. :(

I have been coming here for 46 years - my father took me and my siblings and our dogs here as children, and i have taken my own children and dogs for adventures there over the past 25 years. I hoped to one day take the next generation there. It has always been a special place and remarkably has not changed much. I was quite distressed to hear a rumour that it was being sold and built on - i really hope this is not true as we seem to be building on every tiny inch of green space and covering anything that is naturally beautiful with concrete and bricks! We should never allow woodland to be built on!

I have walked pass here many times in many year's and never thought this place was open to the public. I only found out it was open for the public was on google map's so i came down this weekend to visit and was most impressed, seen some huge sweet chestnut tree's and some very old tree's. The area has gone through some deforestation and a patch of young tree saplings. I would highly recommend a visit
