The Harbour Hospital was excellent. Very helpful and professional from the moment I checked in to my discharge. Charles was very clear and precise about what would be happening and set realistic expectations of the outcome. His whole team was equally as professional and precise. Charles follow up the same day to check the op had gone to his expectation’s. His team also checked up that the anaesthetic had warn off and movement had returned. Recovery has been excellent and vey quick. All hospital staff were friendly and professional. Cannot praise them all highly enough.

From the very first moment of meeting Charles, my husband and I found him extremely approachable and helpful. He explained the procedure of the total knee replacement, and answered all our questions without appearing to be rushed. He had a very pleasant manner, and I would have no hesitation in returning to him for surgery, or in recommending others to him.

A friend recommended Charles Willis-Owen to me after I had a rather catastrophic problem with my right knee.I was fortunate enough to be able to see Charles quite quickly and following an MRI scan, he recommended a total knee replacement. I was more than happy to go with the recommendation as Charles explained everything very clearly and is obviously an expert in his field.His P.A. Fiona was first class at organising the paperwork and appointments and I was admitted to the Harbour hospital within a few weeks. The care I received from Charles, the anaesthetist, the nurses and physios was exemplary. I was able to dispense with my crutches after 2 weeks, was driving again after 3 weeks and was walking 3 miles a day after 4 weeks.I have been told by Charles that my recovery has been extremely rapid but I'm sure that the skill of the surgeon has played a large part in that! Absolutely a 100% recommendation and grateful thanks from a very satisfied patient.

Mr Charles Willis-Owen is an extremely competent and caring surgeon. I had a right unicompartmental knee replacement a few months ago and am thrilled with the result. I always felt well informed and listened to, which was very reassuring. The whole experience was made easier by the efficiency of the team working alongside Mr Willis-Owen, from his PA to the nursing staff and the physio at The Harbour. I also have to say, I have the neatest scar ever - a skilled practitioner indeed.

Mr Willis-Owen is a model of efficient professionalism. His consultations were brief but complete and his manner demonstrated a caring interest in my condition. My knee failed in February this year and without surgery I was destined for a very constrained life with almost zero mobility and 24/7 pain. So I owe a debt of gratitude to Mr Willis-Owen for his orthopedic skills and supporting, focused advice.

Didn't have a great peri and post operative experience with previous knee replacement. This time Mr Willis Owen was keen the experience should be improved and it really was! Having presented with a fairly 'challenging' knee condition, I wasn't sure what the outcome of my knee replacement would be. However the experience was first class and I was off crutches completely at 2 weeks and walking normally and with only minor pain after 6 weeks. Great outcome.

Caring, informative, investigative, thorough. Kept my GP informed, referred me on for MRI and referral to spine specialist. Suggested no knee surgery was necessary but if I need to in the future, it will definitely be him that I'll go to. A good man, gold standard.
