The Churchill Hotel

Beautiful hotel, only 6 or 7 minutes walk to York Minster and the city centre. Car parking is available on site for £15 a day. Staff were very friendly and efficient. The breakfasts were amazing, great selection.The room was a good size, with nice toiletries, kettle, iron, hairdryer and robes.Not sure about the bath in the bedroom, but each to their own!Would definitely stay again

Hotel is in a perfect location for the center of the city with a short walk to one of the gates and the Minster. Staff were friendly and helpful from the moment we walked in through the (beautiful) door and provided us with a map to get us out and about straight away.Our room was big enough for 2 adults and a teenage without feeling cramped at all. The bathroom was spotless and the power show was amazing to the point I didn't wish to get out...Sadly I cannot provide feedback for the bar or restaurant as we had reservations elsewhere however it looked fantastic.Will look to stay again when returning to York.

Just a fabulous hotel where the staff are all absolutely delightful and nothing is too much trouble.We really enjoyed our stay..lovely clean rooms, excellent breakfast served by outstanding staff.Reception Team deserve a special mention because of their kindness and efficiency.

We stayed here for the weekend just before Christmas, the room was nice and clean and the bathroom/shower nice and modern. The location is fantastic, a five minute walk to the city centre. We didn’t eat in the main restaurant but did eat in the bar area and the food was fantastic, the cheese/meat sharing boards are great after a day walking around the city and I’ve got to mention the two great staff behind the bar in the evenings who didn’t stop all evening and always provided service with a smile. If it wasn’t for the great service they provided I would have given four stars as it’s a bit rubbish that you have to pay £15 a night for the car park when you’ve already spent hundreds to stay and hundreds in the bar but that’s literally the only negative! Would definitely recommend and will be staying again.

Visited the pods for a catch up with sisters and mam. Service was great. Mam in wheelchair and everyone very helpful. There is a small heater in the pods which makes it bearable to sit in but not warm. Small fur rugs over chairs maybe blankets would help. We had a selection of starters to share and pizzas. Which were are all very tasty. Maybe think about giving back cost of pod off the bill if you spend so much. We spent well over £100 plus the £20 for pod. Lovely setting when dusk fell with all the sparkling lights.

Just had a lovely weekend stay with three friends at the Churchill Hotel in York. Hotel was immaculate, room was lovely with everything we needed and very comfortable and spacious for four adults. Staff were exceptional, very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Excellent location to York centre and train station. We would highly recommend and will be back.

The rooms were very trendy and clean. The restaurant was quite good. The front desk staff are extremely helpful. The hotel is in a great walkable location. Can't wait to stay here again!

Our first stay at the Churchill Hotel and we loved it. Staff are all so friendly and helpful, you're all a credit to the hotel. Just a short walk to York centre perfect location. The room was nice, and cosy, beds were very comfy and so soft. Best nights sleep. I just wished we could have stayed longer and experienced the beautiful pods they have in the garden. Amazing hotel and would definitely recommend it. I'm already looking at returning.

Had an amazing 4 night stay here. We were booked into the Prince Of Wales suite and it was beautiful. Very large with a bath in the room and a lovely bathroom with shower. Bed was comfortable and only thing I would want are plug sockets near the bed so we could charge our phones. Fantatsic coffee maker in room too. We ate in the pods outside and had pizza. Absolutely lovely pizzas as all the other reviews have stated. Best of all is the staff. They were all wonderful. Thank you. We will be back!

Booked this hotel for our wedding night as I liked the look of it. We booked a standard room for the night before and then the bridal suite for the wedding nights and a few nights after. Upon arrival the gentleman at the reception offered us a free upgrade to the four post bedroom, which was amazing as we weren’t expecting this. The morning of the wedding we checked out at 11, but I was a bit time conscious of when I’d get into the suite as I needed to get ready for my wedding. We asked the staff if there was any way we could have this room earlier and they sorted this so it would be ready at 11, right when I checked out of my other room. The staff were so friendly and moved all our belongings into the suite for us. They accommodated to all of our wedding party who weren’t staying at the hotel and checked on us numerous times for drink refills and to check everyone was satisfied.The rooms were so clean and the hotel its self is so lovely. The staff allowed us to take some bridal photos on the stair case before heading out despite us getting married in the registry office.I wouldn’t have a bad word to say about this hotel and the staff. Everyone was amazing and the hotel was 10/10.
