Pius Hume

Pius is an amazing teacher. My girls started singing lessons with him when they were in junior school. As children there was never a time when they didn’t want to go to their lessons. They absolutely loved him and still do. Pius inspired and enthused them with a love of music and singing that still endures 15 years later. He is kind and caring, professional and supremely talented. I would highly recommend him

Pius is a fantastic teacher! My daughter is 15 and has been having lessons weekly for little under a year and has enjoyed each and every one. In that time the improvement we have seen is amazing. His teaching not only focuses on the the singing but the also the preformace and fundamentals in such a positive way. I would highly recommend to any one.

I’ve been having lessons with Pius for 10 years since I moved to Sheffield. I’d sung (badly) in a community choir for a long time and I wanted to improve my voice to the point where I could get into an auditioned choir.I was apprehensive about having lessons but Pius was able to put me at ease and quickly identified that I’d had a demoralising episode as a child which had affected my singing voice ever since.Within a few months I was accepted into an auditioned choir by which time Pius had enabled me to realise that I could continue to improve my voice. He wants his pupils to achieve the best they can. He is supportive and demanding at the same time, somehow knowing how far he can push you in any particular lesson! Lessons are always enjoyable andI leave them feeling better than when I arrived. Singing has become one of the most important and enjoyable things in my life thanks to Pius.

I have been having singing lessons with Pius for many years, and he is an excellent teacher, very knowledgeable on all aspects of different voices, singing styles and music genres. I couldn’t recommend him highly enough ! He had turned helped develop my voice and given me confidence so sing solos in concerts, musicals and opera productions.

Two years ago my wife surprised me with singing lessons with Pius. Initially hesitant I loved my lessons from the very beginning and since then it is ‘the gift that keeps on giving’. I actually practice in advance – something I never did for any other music lesson – and the recordings have shown me that my voice has become so much better and versatile. Singing exercises the vocal chords and like any other muscle in the body its gets better with practice. Pius is the expert when it comes to assessing where you are and what should be the next step; moving you forward in fun ways while helping you to develop songs of your own choosing.Pius’s singing lesson is something I look forward to every week. It gives me energy, relieves stress and enriches my life. It opens up a door to music I never knew existed.

Pius is a phenomenal singing teacher!I was struggling to find a teacher that was right for me and spent alot of time looking for singing teachers. As soon as I found Pius I knew I was working with the best.I have been having singing lessons with Pius for over a year now and I couldn't have asked for a better teacher. As an actor and a guitar teacher myself I know how important good quality teaching is and the discipline that is required to hone that skill.Pius puts you at ease right away from your first lesson and makes you feel confident in yourself and relaxed. He teaches in a way that is fun and very enjoyable.I always leave each lesson with a big smile on my face and that is all thanks to Pius.If you are wanting to learn how to sing or improve your singing then you won't find a better teacher than Pius!

Two of my children are pupils with Pius and both think he is amazing and they thoroughly enjoy his lessons.Thanks to Pius they are both much more confident singers and their singing get better and better.Would highly recommend.

I’ve been learning to sing with Pius for 5 years now, and his methods are nothing short of phenomenal. Not only is he a very nice chap, but his breadth of singing knowledge combined with his friendly and clear teaching style means your growth as a singer will not only be fast, but fun. When i started with Pius i was straining on a D4, and now I can hit and hold a G4 with higher notes sure to follow soon. What’s more, is that I can say I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the journey thus far. I couldn’t recommend someone more.

Pius is a fantastic teacher with a great wealth of experience and is a throughly decent chap to boot! He has a very clear vision of where you currently are vocally and what you need to do next to continue making incremental improvements week-on-week. Since starting lessons with Pius six months ago, I've noticed a massive change in the quality of my voice and feel that singing comes with much more ease than it had previously - I look forward to seeing how I develop further under Pius' direction.

My Daughter has been having singing lessons with Pius since 2019. She was only 13 then he has helped her progress so much with her voice and taught her so many new techniques. Pius always makes it easy to understand where you are singing from and how to get the right sound.He knows everything there is to know about singing. Pius has helped Georgie so much with her confidence and over the years he has helped her prepare for lots of regional competitions also Teen star, The Voice Kids, Outwood Schools performer of the year, the National entertainment awards in which she is still the current winner and last year to sing at the BBC Radio 1 Big Weekend in front of 20,000 people which was filmed and shown on TV for the winner's story of the Show “Got What It Takes” which Georgie won just before Covid restrictions. Georgie was also on BBC Breakfast with her high notes and Saturday Mash Up.I would highly recommend Pius he has given her tools for life. She is also writing and recording her own songs. Georgie regularly sang last season at Sheffield United. Most weekends she’s performing at festivals, weddings, gigs or competitions
