Very professional and skilled process, my project was very complex and could not thank the team anymore.Thomas Kelly was my client manager and is very passionate for customer satisfaction.(Innovate Product Design please give the team a pay rise they definitely deserve it)HIGHLY RECOMMENDED service for any inventor.

This review is only written to express my own experience with Innovate Design and for others to get a feel for it. However, other experiences may differ which may be dependent on the product to a certain extent.Initial response time was great, I submitted my idea as well as some designs and got feedback quickly as well as information to move on to the initial proposal of the project which was supposed to include the following;1. Search for similar solutions to similar problems;2. Help you to ascertain how best to protect your idea;3. Indicate what others have thought of in the field of your invention;4. Provide information to assist drafting of a patent application;5. Establish what options you may have to successfully commercialise.They said the response would be within approximately 10 days, I got my response 15 days later which I had no problems or complaints about. The report was 210 pages long as a PDF document.The majority of the report was existing patents which was great as it gave me an insight into existing applications and all the different ways similar concepts were used. The research on existing products however was a bit poor as they only were able to find 2 products similar to my concept over 15 days in. I had found 3 myself in under 30 minutes which they did not come across which was strange as the concept was quite simplistic. However, I was still not bothered too much but this as I had done my in-depth research on this at a later stage but I did expect more as they were professionals and had 15 days for the search.I did not get any information on points 3 and very limited information on point 5, Point 2 was general understanding that you can just find online easily so nothing great there either as it was not specific to my design or idea.The client manager I was working with went on a holiday for about a week and a half and I was not made aware of this until I got an automated reply to my email. I’m not saying don’t go on your holiday but you should pass the project on to a colleague or at the very least make me aware before leaving. I called the company to pass my project onto someone else and they said I would get a call the same day and I got no calls. I did the same again after a day and they said I would get a call tomorrow, again, I got nothing. I got nothing until the client manager returned.The next stage was product development and generating a CAD model of my idea plus other components. Before paying for the initial proposal (patent search) I had made it very clear with my client manager that I was happy with product development but wanted to do the CAD myself to save cost and the client manager said that was fine through emails. Once the proposal was sent to me it was indicated that they would do the CAD for me and I clarified this with a reply to only provide me with the designs to which I could work and develop the CAD myself. They also wanted to provide me with mood boards and professional images of my design to which I also did not want.I replied wanting less from the proposal they sent where a majority of the cost would be revolved around the CAD which I indicated very early I did not want. Being a bespoke manufacturing company they were unable to accommodate customer requests and were not flexible at all and only wanted to do it their standard way. Being a graduate in industrial design I only wanted certain components as I was capable of doing the others myself. I just lacked experience and expertise in certain areas which I wanted help with. I did not work with the company going forward.My recommendations: don’t pay for the patent search straight away like I did as there are other companies that give you free consultations on your design after you sign an NDA as well as patent attorneys that give free consultations. After speaking with experienced designers from other companies it was made clear I should not force a patent on my design and a patent search was not necessary at the stage I was at.

Unfortunately my experience with Innovate has not been good. I submitted an idea to them and waited for a response. Their first response was to send me an email saying they could make me a 10 page power point presentation for £3,240 in total. I replied and explained I was no where near this stage, to which they replied and said they could do a patent search for £550.I sent a polite email back explaining I wouldn’t part with any money with out speaking to the team and discussing my idea and seeing if they brought into my idea and my values.I then received an email back from Grace explaining they didn’t do business this way but she could call me.Grace then called me and initially tried to sell me on the patent search before I discussed my level of research, that I wasn’t sure this would be the next step, I discussed my idea and what I saw being the next steps within the realms of my knowledge.Grace pretended to be interested and said she’d seek advice from colleagues and get back to me the next day on the phone. I have since heard nothing and essentially been ghosted by the company.Even if my idea was rubbish I found this rude and un professional, an email stating they didn’t feel my idea was viable would have been preferable. It seems they are just after the quick money and do not care about investing in ideas.I have since spoke to other companies and I had a much better experience with a full 1hr 30 conversation with the CEO full of feedback, what my potential road blocks could be, his genuine opinion and a route to market. No payment was asked for straight away and they are now putting together a proposal of how they think they can help me as a company. This in my opinion is how business should be conducted.So please save yourselves the time and potential up front costs for services you don’t need and research other companies.

My personal experience with innovate has been from my initial contact a very pleasant experience..they have brought my idea to life I feel lucky that have such a wonderful product manager if my business proves to be successful I'm sure I will have a long lasting relationship with regards to app support...I found everyone involved to be enthusiastic and helpful...also I found their pricing to be reasonable...obviously you have to spend money if you want your idea to come to life...I'm excited to see what comes next I would like to thank all involved with my project

I’m currently waiting for a member of the innovate design team to contact me. I have been persistently contacting the office which intern repeatedly told that I will be called back. I’m currently waiting after calling twice today in one day. After reading these reviews, I’m quite worried but my idea is in the wrong hands although I was sent an NDA from innovate design signed as well. After reading these reviews, I am left feeling slightly discouraged and disheartened. The first initial contact from innovate design was great. Three separate members of the team rang me in order to inform me of a patent search that needed to be done which they done quite rapidly but just like all of the other reviews and left being ignored.

After one year I realize that I waste money, time and effort! They are cool and responsive until you sign the contract and do bank transfer.After that they are always in holiday and are really slow to reply at your email request!Also what they deliver to me you can find in the market at 1/3 of the price and quality that they provideIn the end I have 4 piece of papers that cost me........ And nothing elseThey will ask you more money and more money!This is my personal (bad) experience with this company

Do not under any circumstances choose this company as a partner to work with on your project. They are only interested in money and charge extortionate prices under the guise of being genuine.I approached them for help on a project and before I knew it they requested £500 to conduct a professional 'worldwide patent search'. This is nothing more than an advanced Google search where all the information on prior art is copied and pasted into a document.Innovate made it sound like they have access to other databases which they'd be using for the patent search. I was appalled when I searched Google and found exactly what was in the document regurgitated word for word.I didn't even request this patent search in the first place. I simply wanted some help on how to get my idea off the ground and they sold me the idea that a patent search was needed first and foremost before anything is done.They gave me a quote of about £5k for a patent search and prototype. This doesn't even scratch the surface for everything else that would need to be done in order to make the product I was proposing. They come with work that needs to be done before any actual necessary work is done.I was supposed to have a meeting to discuss my prototype (unfortunately I'd already paid tha £500 for the patent search at this stage) in December 2020. I am yet to be contacted for this meeting. I'm assuming it's because I didn't pay the rest of the quote amount that was needed to compose the prototype which is simply CAD drawings.They told me the drawings would take 3-6 weeks to complete. Mind you I went on upwork and got CAD drawings made for £100 in which was completed in less than 2 days. Similarly the so called patent search took 2 or 3 weeks to complete and be sent to me.Please do not ever work with any company that requires you to give a dime for a bogus patent search. It is a scam and not worth your while at all. You can do this work for free yourself by searching on Google. If you really want professional help go to a reputable patent lawyer.Innovation companies are preying on entrepreneurs zealousness and willingness to succeed and its an absolute shame. By pass this middle man and save yourself the headache and your hard earned money. Use a freelancer instead. They'll do the work for a fraction of the price 90% better and faster.I'm glad I only lost £500 to this useless company before I came to my senses. Others have lost thousands. You've been warned. Proceed with extreme caution!EDIT: in response to the owners comment:What 'paid' databases does innovate use to conduct the patent search? A list of these would be very useful, considering the only patent search I received from innovate was copied and pasted from Google. What you're saying and what I experienced don't really match.Also, the 'sorry you felt the need to post that' apology is quite futile. Apologising while blaming the customer for their 'feelings' based on a bad experience with your company seems a little... dodgy. You've only responded to 2 of my complaints, I'm not confident that my complaints will be dealt with any better on the phone so arranging a phone discussion is a massive waste of my energy. This platform is much better for me to discuss my experience simultaneously informing others - since I 'feel the need to post that'.

Innovate Design is a fantastic company, helping you to take your idea from a figment of the imagination into a visible an investable product. They have some fantastic staff who are very helpful and give honest and insightful feedback. Although my product is not at design stage yet they have managed the project superbly and I look forward to being able to have a completed product soon thanks largely to their expertise. I would definitely recommend them to any budding entrepreneur.

Innovate Design helped me, James, through the precarious early stages of my invention by being professional, courteous, hard working and ambitious and their work has always been to a high standard to help you on your way. We are part way through the process now and work completed is a Worldwide Patent Search, some impressive Computer Aided Designs, a working prototype, supplier quotations and lots of necessary information about your options all done to a very high standard as well as numerous communications too. We have had some fun doing our project and I am looking forward to some exciting times ahead. Thank you Innovate
