Scrivens Opticians & Hearing Care

I sat on my glasses!Took them.to Scrivens, this afternoon. Wonderful service from.a lovely lady, who took care,for about ten minutes. My glasses now fit better than before.Thank you so much.

Very disappointed in the service for the hearing for my 91 year old mum. Her hearing aids had been adjusted 5 days ago in Tadley (by one of the Scrivens hearing team).Since the adjustment there has been a constant screeching and crackling which can be heard constantly from 12' away behind closed doors! Mum has put up with this for 5 days. The attitude of the technician was that you just have to wait for the next 3 weeks putting up with all this noise, not only for her but for everyone around her. The young chap was awful, didn't care at all. Offered no suggestions or alternatives, she just has to put up with it!Appalling service, he showed no care about the situation at all. Dreadful. Would he feel like that if it were his grandmother?! Not recommended at all.That was also after they phoned at 10am to change the 3.30pm appointment as he could no longer do the original appointment! Only 2 hours notice but because it was so urgent I changed my plans to suit them. What a waste of time!So much for the National Health Service..........

Very poor customer experience. Appointment started late, staff mightily unconcerned. New prescription needed, so we were rushed off to view frames. Optician 'forgot' to sign NHS voucher when we decided to look elsewhere. Staff and manager refused to get the form signed at our request, and optician had to be challenged in consulting room. Unprofessional and ridiculous.

Always recieve fantastic service. Eye test was thorough and the exceptional customer service makes it easy to go in each time I'm due an eye test. Would encourage others to make scrivens in tilehurst their opticians

First visit went well. Friendly greeting and thorough eye test. Staff very helpful when choosing frames.

Thorough eye test and referred me to specialist for further check. Glasses excellent. Very professional service.

Scrivens is a smaller opticians and the staff there are friendly and helpful. However they are unable to deliver their contact lens product and after signing up nearly two months later we still have not received anything but they have taken two payments (we can't stop that!).So ask if they have anything in stock before purchasing/signing up.Once they've got your money and signed you up there is little you can do but wait and listen to their excuses.Update: Scrivens did get the lens to me a week or so after this review, so I felt it was only fair to update this and increase the star rating. I still standby what I said above, so check stock before signing up. The staff are great and people want to support the local supplier, but we still have an expectation that things will work correctly.

Very efficient, was seen on time and the appointment itself was thorough. Staff were helpful and welcoming. Managed to get an appointment for the following day which was very convenient. Would be 5 stars but the building has a leak which was dripping onto one of the chairs in the waiting area - apparently head office have been notified multiple times and havent fixed it, slightly worried as it was very near a lighting fixture for the window display!
