I am quite surprised to read such negative reviews having used Red Spotted Hanky for the last few years and been consistently impressed with the standard of service.The app is fairly basic but does the job and does not charge admin fees like their major competitors.I have had no issues when it has come to refunds or corrections and have found the Customer Service team to be highly responsive, courteous and effective.

My train to London from lichfield was cancelled due to bad weather over the weekend. Phoned Red Spotted Hanky up today to request a refund. Was told I need to email them and send any pictures of proof the train was cancelled. Who takes a picture of the screen when your train is cancelled.? So they are refusing me a refund due to this.

I’ve been using Red spotted hanky awhile now. Never really had a problem.Recently had an emergency where I couldn’t travel so emailed requested a refund. It took a while for them to even get back to me and said I need to rebook another ticket to apply for a refund which I may not even receive

Tickets are often much more expensive than normal booking sites like National Rail or Trainline. Credit has an expiry date on which is a bit rubbish. Tried to book a low fare then it wouldn't let me 'check out', when I went back it was three times the price.

Used RSH for over a decade and am not likely to continue.I needed to change a booking so sent 2 webform requests that went unanswered. The date of travel passed so I had to buy another ticket.Finally got hold of someone on the phone to be told that the webform was broken and my request had not been received. Was advised a request had been sent to the refunds team". Six weeks later still no refund and when I phone up to ask for a payment date the advisor just tells me "I can't access that system sorry"My experience is that it is near impossible to get a refund or to change a booking RSH."

I used RSH to buy train tickets and when I went to the ticket machine to collect them, they said they don't exist (despite receiving an email confirmation and ticket collection code)! I then contacted RSH to which they told me the tickets don't exist on their database? After asking them to rebook for me, they told me they won't do it, and I ended up having to buy a last minute ticket at an extortionate price. Don't bother buying through them if you want to have your time wasted. Stick to Trainline. RSH are useless.

I booked train tickets for my parents to visit me. Unfortunately, my father's health declined and he was unable to travel so I asked for a refund. Red Spotted Hanky agents proceeded to misinform me of their refund policy which delayed the whole process and made it impossible to get a refund. Question - how many stars is this worth?

The tickets are a con.Buy an off peak ticket thats is refundable and their system automatically turns it into advance single which aren't refundable.I have the screen shots.Customer services is laughable is I wasn't so angry.Ask really personal questions for no reason at all.never again, you have been warned.Yhey obviously need the money more than me. Review Updated Jun 2019. I have used RSH since 2011 and had an e-voucher value £131.75 with an expiry date of 31/12/2020. Went to use the voucher Apr 2019 and it had been deleted. Made a complaint and was told my voucher would not be reinstated. I wrote a couple of online reviews about my experience. A lady called Susan who is a team leader at RSH investigated and discovered 4 customers including myself had vouchers deleted. She contacted me and said this should not have happened and reinstated my voucher. She also reimbursed a train fare which I had to pay for as my e-voucher had been deleted. My negative experience was turned into a positive one by Susan who has first class customer relationship skills and is a very pleasant person to deal with.

Regular user of RSH - cheaper than other services and had very few problems. Cons: the website could be improved for easier access and understanding your account
