Took my car in for service on 6th April. I had explained in detail that I was getting a low humming noise from the back of the car, I thought it was a bearing, and the assistant manager said he thought it sounded like that too. Car went in. They phoned and said it was steering rack joint at the front. I paid for that and also for the full service. Took the car back and the noise was still there. Phoned them and was told to bring the car back but they couldn’t look at it right away. They wanted me to pay another diagnostic fee. I took the car to a different garage and they said yes it’s the wheel bearing at the back and repaired it for me. Spoke to Halfords and they couldn’t explain why they had not fixed it even though we’d not only told them about it but the full service is supposed to include inspection of the wheel bearings. It made me wonder what else they had not checked that they should have as part of the service. What did I pay for? Did they actually even do the service at all? The assistant manager, Jason, when we finally spoke to him offered to refund us the cost of the service (£225). This was in April, it’s now June and I am still waiting for the refund. We’ve phoned countless times and been told “it’s in progress”. Jason is very polite but not proactive at all. We have had to phone him even after he’s said he would phone us. The customer service and complaints number I’ve been given is a non existent number and when I emailed Halfords Autocentres I had no reply whatsoever. It’s apparently now been passed to the regional manager but they refuse to let me contact him directly and all I have heard is radio silence.I have phoned their customer service today and was asked to go on hold while they contacted the salisbury centre, after 15 on hold they hung up the line on me. I’ve just tried calling back and they’re just not answering at all. Are Halfords so desperate for cash that they’d rather alienate a customer for life than refund them £225 for something they themselves admitted they didn’t deliver ?? I won’t be letting this go. In the process of reporting them to trading standards.

Really helpful and friendly staff. I always go here for any issues when in the Salisbury area and get my MOT done here. I took my car in for an inspection as it was misfiring. The manager kindly put a can of fuel injector cleaner in my tank before I set off to help clear the issue and when I got my wallet out said don't worry about it and didn't charge for it. Quick turn around time on work too. Definitely recommend.

Fantastic service & friendly staff. The staff were great at listening to the issues I was having, booking my car in for inspection and then confirming the issues with the battery. They were transparent about the replacement work that would be carried out and the costs involved. Straightforward, timely and easy to talk to. Would highly recommend.

In need of a 'winter fluids and tyres check' at short notice -- the service I received from the phone call to Jason to his farewell and 'Happy New Year' -- was OUTSTANDING (and free). Lots of extra advice and intend using them in future for Twinkle's (my car) other needs. Thank you and have a great 2023.

Booked and paid for an air conditioning check. This was also confirmed via text the day before. Drove 12 miles for an 08:30am appointment to be told their machine was not working and they couldn’t do the AC pressure check as per my booking. Why couldn’t Halfords have texted me or cancelled the appointment to save me wasting an hour of my life going there. The man offered a visual check which was not what I booked. Throughout there was NO apologies whatsoever! Strangely, As I used a swear word in my discussion he took offence and walked away. I didn’t swear at him, I only swore in the conversation. Despite this I apologised to him BUT he refused to accept my apology!! Now that did make me angry, Maybe he was just embarrassed and wanted to avoid me. Who knows? But it was very strange. A really awful experience but lesson learnt. NEVER again.

I had a free check done on my car and Adam was very helpful and polite, he kept me up to date with my cars progress, very friendly and understanding. Adam explained everything to me in a way I could understand and my car was in and out in under 2 hours. I'll be going back again because the service was great and Adam was amazing. Thank you halfords for making my experience a good one.

Booked car in for an MOT. On the day, we were unable to drop off the car due to a traffic issues. We rang Halfords and they explained that if we could get the car down to them by 3pm they might still be able to fit us in. We did in fact manage to do this and the work needed on the brake pads in order to pass was done the following morning. The team at Halfords were very accommodating and efficient. This was the first time we had used them and we will definitely use them again.
