Art in the Shed

I have been attending Jane's classes for around 9 months both in 'the shed' and via zoom, and absolutely love them! Over blocks of weeks we look at different techniques and 'art' subjects, developing our skills and learning the foundations (and cheats) of creating a sketchbook of art, and longer more sustained pieces in our own home. The pace of the lessons are great, aimed at both the beginner and more confident art lover! Thank you Jane - they are the highlight of my week!

I have been doing Zoom Art classes with Jane from June this year, they have been great fun & we have tried several art techniques very successfully. It has been lovely to carry on with our Art classes and to see classmates. Jane is always upbeat and very supportive & very knowledgeable. Thanks Jane for embracing the new technology & allowing us to carry on with art.

During lockdown, Jane set up weekly ‘Zoom’ classes which I’ve attended since early April. There’s also a ‘WhatsApp’ group for the class that helps the members keep contact and is great for sharing work and ideas. The classes are well prepared and Jane emails any necessary resources, information or work beforehand. Often, she records the class for anyone who cannot manage to attend on the day. The group I’m with are really friendly and we constructively criticise our own work ( which is always a good laugh). Jane is very adept at managing ‘Zoom’ and I would highly recommend the classes to anyone - beginner or otherwise.

Jane is a fabulous, patient, enthusiastic teacher with a very positive attitude. I have really enjoyed my classes with her and the transition from classes in her lovely shed to classes via zoom has been smoothly done. Jane sets up a WhatsApp group for all her classes so we can share ideas and our work and she posts in advance of the class to let us know what we need to have to hand for the class. I would absolutely recommend the classes at Art in the Shed. Jane often lets the classes run over a bit, giving us time for some chat which is lovely too. She can record the class and send it to you to watch over again which is helpful if you have to miss one or just want to go over the lesson again. Also we cover a wide variety of styles and materials in the classes which I particularly like.

I recently joined Art in the Shed via the Zoom route and enjoy what we do tremendously. Jane has some great methods for teaching us drawing and painting. She is very encouraging and a skilled facilitator for drawing and painting skills.

Jane’s art classes in the shed were so much fun, even for a relatively non-arty person like me. Currently we are having to use Zoom for our lessons and she has managed to very successfully move to the on line format, it’s still lots of fun! There are 5 in our group and it works well. Jane is very positive and encouraging and because of her excellent tuition and guidance I seem to manage to produce work which surprises and pleases me. I thoroughly recommend her excellent classes.

Excellent art classes, zoom classes all through lockdown, only thing keeping me sane.
