Rudders Boatyard

Living in the Rhondda valleys, I never expected to stay overnight at an operational boatyard. It was booked for me as a 40th birthday getaway. It was fantastic. I stayed in the 'Cosy Cabin' a converted shipping container which was great in it's own unique way. Windows looking out onto the Estuary, boats moored in the water, the pontoon heading out, catching the sunrise was really nice. Fish were bobbing just beneath the pontoon so close you could catch with your hands. Ideal getaway if you want a little peace and quiet. Still had toilets and shower onsite. Would definitely visit again.

Extremely competent and friendly team who are able to carry out most work. Tohatsu dealership, and they carry out service on all engines.The boatyard is a magical place and it has clean toilet and shower facilities available to boat owners. Hopefully returning next year.Thanks to Martin and Keith for all of their help.

Did the 2 Day RYA Powerboat Course with these guys, an excellent standard of instruction, hard work and a load of fun.There is even a coffee shop, that does an exceptionally good Cappuccino !

Went in to inquire about boat storage - launch and recovery etc. Guys were having a lunch in a cabin and with all their sarcasm, they were not interested in any of my business. That's ok. Took my business elsewhere and very chuffed with the service I get and that is not from Rudders Boatyard. Entrance to this premise is very narrow and very very steep. Their prices are low compare to others but I guess sarcasm and rudeness comes as one package. Not for me .Update: new owners or the managers of this boat yard got in touch and I will give them a chance when the time is right for my boat needs etc.Update 2 had engaged with the boat yard on few occasions for various reasons. New management and the staff are very helpful and friendly.

Great working boatyard with very friendly and helpful service from all the staff, nothing is any trouble. Have used the boatyard for the six month spring / summer period for the last two years and have already booked up for next years season. The pontoon is great as it can be used during any tide. The café is also good with great coffee, looking forward to the next season.

For the last 5 years I have kept my boat on a store and launch at Rudders. I cannot think of a better way to enjoy your boat and in such a fabulous location. The service I receive is outstanding and makes using my boat an absolute pleasure.

Had a great experience with my Dad doing the Level 2 Powerboat course, with Sarah as our instructor. The weather was challenging, but Sarah made the whole thing both enjoyable and really informative. Feel so much more comfortable going out in my own boat now. Thank you so much Sarah. Would thoroughly recommend Rudders for the course.
