Appalling and chaotic experience at Gatwick this evening. Families with young kids forced to wait long periods, only 2 border force agents at passport control, more than half of e-gates not operational. What an omnishambles!

Passport control staff are disgusting. Will not behave like a normal human being with the smallest amount of decency because only the detritus are recruited to work for them. The engerlish are fantastic at plenty of empty hollow words.

Unfriendly and rude. Also they detained us for hours without providing any further information although they promised to check. Imagine waiting for 6 hours in a loud room on chairs, it is cold, no olace to lay down and nothing hot to drink.

Appalling!!We landed at 23:10 last night (scheduled arrival of a routine flight) and spent over an hour in the passport control queue. There must have been over 100 families with children (many in arms) and quite a few crying waiting to get through. The delay was primarily down to serious understaffing.I sincerely hope the decision makers take note work towards improving this going forward.

Garrick airport worth airport in UK, In term of facility very difficult to find place to sit, and the custom department behaving people very bad, passport Border security check don't ask white people . There is a young Asian officer with beard just stopping non-white people. in the 1 of June 2022 there was very long line just for non-white people and the officer in charge was new and young Pakistani officer, he asked people just by colour of skin. If you are not white people never fly by Gatwick airport. This is my 22 years experience to use this airport.the white officers more respectful toward passengers than no white border officer....

When my wife woke me up, she was crying. We were flying from Prague to London on our way back home and my 5 year old son had just thrown up blood. We were both terrified. The half hour that remained was one of the longest of my life. When we were finally able to get off of the plane, I already had the closest hospital mapped. We just needed to get through customs and get out of the airport. When the Border Force Officer asked why we were in London, I explained the situation as quickly as I could and told him we were trying to make it to the closest hospital. He took all four of our passports and told me to wait, leaving his podium and disappearing into the offices behind him. We had no idea what to expect. When he came back, he explained that he had called an emergency paramedic on our behalf and that she was on the way.He then asked us to follow him to a private seating area he'd prepared just for us, it included a special rolling screen so we could wait in privacy with our sons. When the paramedic arrived, she did a thorough examination of Ronan (who was on antibiotics for strep) and explained that it's not uncommon for a little blood to show up in vomit, especially if he'd been coughing a lot. She put Ronan through all of the necessary tests in order to clear us to fly.The Border Force Officer stayed the entire time.By the time we received the all-clear, we were in danger of missing our connecting flight back home to Phoenix. The Border Force Officer escorted us all the way (through an insane throng of people) to the front of the security line to get back into the terminal. The security personnel responsible for checking our tickets found out one of our tickets had been printed incorrectly. She wouldn't let us through.I didn't realize the Border Force Officer had stayed until he stepped into my path as my wife and I walked away, looking for the airline's ticketing counter. After I explained to him what happened, he escorted us to the front of the airline's customer service counter (moving us to the front of the line yet again) and explained the situation to the customer service representative. He then waited patiently as the customer service representative confirmed our flights, checked our passports, and printed us the correct tickets. Then, he brought us back to the front of the security line and waited until he was sure we made it through. We made our flight back home and Ronan slept soundly the whole way.The Border Force Officer's name is Michael Wade and he works at Heathrow Terminal 5.I wasn't able to find him online. My hope is that this makes its way back to the folks at Heathrow Airport and the Border Force Team.It might sound a little dramatic, but Officer Wade felt like our guardian angel that day.I'm so grateful to know there are people like him in the world and I'm hopeful that others will help share this to ensure he gets the recognition he deserves.

On arriving at Gatwick tonight I was once again by border force staff judged by my appearance not by my actionsI have a disability and have to use the assistance on departure and arrivalWe have the last two times been taken through the red channel at customs on our buggyAgain I was looked at with suspicion as we declared that we have nothing to declare we were then asked what we had in our bags we said clothesWe were looked at with suspicion as though we were lying we then had to say we had clothes shoes and toiletries the staff member then smirked and allowed us to go the entire time we were being spoken too the staff member had her hands in her pocketsI fully support our border staff and believe they do a great jobBut because I look like a criminal and not a 30 year retired police officer I’m used to itI was annoyed at the smirk and the style of questioning not the questions themselvesStan Palmer

My passport never works with the scanner to do it myself but as I am disabled I can go to the special assistance section and they are always lovely there, making sure to check my details and to ask if we had a nice flight.I am always nervous when I fly and have to go through border control but whenever I arrive in London Gatwick I know the border control will be a breeze. They are very fast and efficient to make sure you get through as quickly as possible.

What an absolute joke of a 'service' you're providing, it's appalling.

It's funny how certain individuals specially ladies, can easily go through the special assistance lane while the rest of the people have to wait in the queue. The border force guy seemed very happy. It's an absolute abuse to all of us who had to wait almost 2 hours in the queue.
